Publisher's Summary

Welcome back to Mount Polbearne! The new book from Top Ten best seller Jenny Colgan is full of festive joy, warmth and the best hot chocolate you can imagine....

It's Christmas in the Cornish coastal village of Mount Polbearne - a time for family, friends and feasting.

Polly Waterford loves running the Little Beach Street Bakery. She's at her happiest when she's creating delicious treats and the festive season always inspires her to bake and knead something extra special for the village residents. In fact, the only thing she loves more than her bakery is curling up with her gorgeous boyfriend, Huckle. She's determined that this Christmas is going to be their best one yet, but life doesn't always work out as planned....

When Polly's best friend Kerensa turns up with a secret that threatens the life Polly and Huckle have built together, the future begins to look uncertain. And then a face from Polly's past reappears and things become even more complicated. Polly can usually find solace in baking but she has a feeling that's not going to be enough this time. Can she get things back on track so that everyone has a merry Christmas?

Sweet

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A sweet book, yes as other reviews say it is very unrealistic in places and fantastical, But hey its a trilogy and the final. By this stage I was very invested in the characters and in love with the setting and Cornwell, the author cld have landed a UFO on the beach and I wldnt have cared too much. It felt a little rushed and like too much was squashed into the book. But I loved it and it was heart warming and it made me feel happy. What more can you ask for in a cosy, escapist read? Plus Kerensa's storyline kept me hooked till the end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery?

cant say because of spoilers!

What about Anne-Marie Piazza’s performance did you like?

Lovely soothing voice

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh and tear up at the conclusion

Kind of ok

I kind of liked this book. But unrealistic. Not really really Christmassy. It was more of a nod to Christmas. I’m not quite buying into Neil the pet puffin and the ending was verging on ridiculous which got me shouting quite literally that that was “highly unlikely”. I love a bit of fantasy but this was a bit too far fetched for me and clearly left open for many more follow on books.

fabulous!

What a jolly and happy little story. I listened to this between Christmas and New Year and it was perfect company for chilly winter walks and tidying the house! Just lovely.

Chick lit

An entertaining listen, easy to keep track of and I was enjoying it by the end, although there's not much to it other than a fairly predictable storyline

Delightful

Delightful story with real characters and twists and turns of humanity's fragility and ability to overcome pain and turmoil. Loved the Cornish setting. Left me with wanting more, a real page turner.

Perfect to get you in the mood for Christmas

Warm, cosy and delightful. Loved being back at the Beach Street Bakery and I hope we get to go back. Classic Colgan at her best.

Dreadful American accents

The story was ok, although a bit too far fetched in places. The narration of the 2 American men speaking was probably the most irritating voice I've ever listened to, it totally spoilt the book and I debated whether to give up as it was just so annoying.

Perfect end to the perfect trilogy

Everything about this story and performance was wonderful and highly enjoyable.
I am so disappointed that this Beach Street trilogy has come to an end for me...what am I going to do with myself now!
The characters were so well-rounded that I felt I could predict their actions and behaviours because I knew them so well; that's not just because Jenny Colgan is such a fantastic author but is due to the wonderful performance from Anne-Marie Piazza too.
I highly recommend this, and, quite frankly, ANY Jenny Colgan story.

Enjoyable easy listening

It was good to meet up with the characters from the two earlier books. There are some new introductions albeit these were not strong and the storyline was predictable in places and not very believable.

Overall an enjoyable easy listen which was brought to life by the skills of the narrator,

Not as good as the first two

I have enjoyed this series but liked this book the least of the three by far. Not much baking, hated the start, didn't much enjoy the themes of the book but it did still draw you in and the ending was reasonable. The other two were streets ahead of this one but I guess it did complete the story.
