About this listen
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.E. Smith presents another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.
Riley St. Claire has always followed her own rules. When she discovers her current employer is not as law-abiding as she thought, she has to leave town in a hurry...or end up buried with the dead guy she discovered. She doesn't expect to be picked up by a passing trader from another world.
As the ruling king of Sarafin, Vox d'Rojah is expected to produce a son who will be joined in marriage with the first-born daughter of the king of Valdier. But Vox has no intentions of having any sons, at least not in the near future. He's quite happy with the wide selection of females at his disposal. When Vox is captured by a ruthless Valdier royal and sold to a mining operation, the last thing he expects to find is his bride mate.
Vox isn't sure which would be easier: fighting another war with the Valdier or capturing and holding on to the human female who's unlike anyone he has ever encountered. Now he must escape back to his world while fighting pirates, traders - and Riley!
The king of Sarafin has met his match in Ms. Riley St. Claire from Earth. Now he just needs to figure out a way to let her know he has chosen her as his queen - and he has every intention of keeping her by his side forever.

Fun bit of silliness

As a bit of frivolity, the plot was very entertaining, so long as you don't take it too seriously. I thoroughly enjoyed the ridiculousness of the universe's species conjured up by the author. But don't read/listen if you are overly sensitive to various '-isms', as the author has poked fun at many of these.
Fun and frivolous

One of my favourites and relays well to audible.
Good job bringing Riley to life.
Audible brings the wonderful humour to life. Narrator does a good job with this story as Riley is a strong personality.
BOOK REVIEW
Fantastic read. In the top 5 books of all Ms Smiths wonderful interconnecting world of Aliens.
I don't think I have laughed out loud so much as I did at Riley's antics. She is wonderful, another strong capable woman who doesn’t need a man in her life but completes them like no one else can.
The fact that Vox, the Sarafin King, one of the most feared fighters in the galaxy keeps tripping over his own paws making mistakes is hysterical.
One of the best books I have read in ages. This book ties in with the wonderful world created by Ms Smith.
I just wish she could write them faster as there are so many wonderful characters awaiting their HEA's.
I can re-read Ms Smiths books continually as still laugh every time.

While I enjoyed the spitfire h and her strength, especially the humour I was over her 2 hours in.
This whole book was based on lack of knowledge, understanding and communication. I was so frustrated.
The H was driven by the whole get her pregnant trope that had me eye rolling.
For a Prince he certainly wasn't written with any intelligence.
The last hour skipped to the h's acceptance and enjoying her new world. But it did have more action than the rest of the book.
While I'm guessing that this novel was intended to be light and comical, it wasn't right for me.
There was a huge lack of depth that I discovered in other S. E. Smith novels so I'm stopping here.
The Valdier series sounds more plot driven than this one.
It's just push, pull, chase, submit, steam, ice, gah.....not my cup of plotline.
David Brenin did a great job as usual. But I did keep imagining Vox with a deeper voice that I couldn't quite shake.
nope not this one
