About this listen

The fifth in the series of the classic fantasy tales – The Chronicles of Narnia. A complete and unabridged edition of this enduringly popular Children’s book.

“Stop it!” cried Eustace. “It’s some silly trick you are playing! Ow!” A great cold salt splash had broken right out of the frame and they were breathless from the smack of it, as well as being wet through.

Lucy and Edmund, stuck with their awful cousin Eustace, suddenly find themselves in a picture of a sailing ship – the Dawn Treader – and realise they have been drawn back into the land of Narnia. They are reunited with old friends, the young King Caspian and Reepicheep the mouse on a voyage of discovery to the End of the World

Critic Reviews

“The magic of C.S. Lewis’s parallel universe never fades.” The Times

“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness.” C S Lewis

I did not like the reader of the story a bit husky in his voice that was the only thing I don't like but other than that it's a good book to read for the whole family book. 😍

This was narrated beautifully, sensitively, with a sense of fun along with such great characterisation.

Great narration

C S Lewis’s brilliant writing skills are evident. The narrator is pleasant to listen to but most of all there is a Holy Ghost anointing to the story.

Magical

I am very sorry Sir Derek but your voice is not, in my humble option, correct for C S Lewis Narnia books. I love you as Cadfael .

Nor suitable reader.

All the stories in this series are so wonderful, 1 million percent better than the movies - if you liked the movies you’ll love these stories. This one is my favourite.

Best Story

The performance was great, as always. I'm easily impressed as you can tell by my previous reviews.

The story was an emotional rollercoaster coaster for me. Nothing extreme of the sorts but more a range between "jaw droppingly exciting" to "a bore".

Multiple adventures towards a single goal is all I can say without spoiling anything. The books cover will that you that much with a picture of a ship sailing the vast ocean.

Overall, an enjoyable book. One of the most heart warming of the series.

An up and down story of adventures

I would recommend this audiobook to 5 & up because part could be too scary. I really like the story. Reviewed by Miss 9
