Publisher's Summary

"This is my story. It really happened. It's all true. Not even the names have been changed. Like most people, I took my bum for granted. I agreed to tell my story in the hope that others could learn from it. If this book can save even just one person from making the same mistake, then I will be happy. Who knows? The next bum it saves might be yours." - Zack Freeman, September 2001.

Zack Freeman is ready to tell his story. The story of a boy and his crazy runaway bum. The story of a crack bum-fighting unit called the B-team, a legendary Bum Hunter and his formidable daughter, and some of the biggest, ugliest and meanest bums ever to roam the face of the earth. A story of courage and endurance that takes Zack on a journey across the Great Windy Desert, through the Brown Forest and over the Sea of Bums before descending into the heart of an explosive bumcano to confront the biggest, ugliest, and meanest bum of them all...

Love’n it

Exciting story fun and interactive

I loved almost all of it but, I wish we heard his feelings more,
but apart from that I thought it was amazing
I liked the story board and I loved the sound affects
my sister and I listened to it all the time we were sad when it finished
but we were happy to hear that there were two more books

Fun for grown ups too

My husband and I listened to this audiobook while road tripping and we were laughing so much that at points we were crying. The narrator, Stig Wemyss, is so committed to the story telling and is incredibly captivating. As the book title indicates, don't take it too seriously. There's only so much you can do with the story line but still an entertaining listen - We thoroughly enjoyed this book and we are grown adults with no children.

Kids loved it

As an adult it was okay to listen to. The kids found it equally gross and funny. Kept them entertained on a road trip. Narrator does a pretty good job too.

Great for kids

What did you like most about The Day My Bum Went Psycho?

My 4 and 6 year olds loved this book. My husband couldn't stand listening to it. It was a good story

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Surprised in some ways, not disappointed

What does Stig Wemyss bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He has a much more engaging way of reading it then I could have had reading it to my kids. It made it an enjoyable listen, even for mum.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

Don't get it if you have issues with bum jokes or hearing the word bum every two seconds. It is a great book for kids who love bum jokes but can be a bit crude.

Not for bedtime LOL

My son listens to books to help him get to sleep. Based on the belly laughs coming from his room every night it was perhaps not the best choice! He loved it :)

The Performance ruins this story

Its such a shame but the prolonged shouting just wears you down after a while. The over use of SFX too is really unnecessary. Please let the listeners decide when to laugh.

Would just love it if Andy Griffiths simply ready the story.
