Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens, read by Gemma Chan.

When Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong set up their very own secret detective agency at Deepdean School for Girls, they struggle to find any truly exciting mysteries to investigate. (Unless you count the case of Lavinia's missing tie. Which they don't.)

Then Hazel discovers the Science Mistress, Miss Bell, lying dead in the gym. She assumes it was a terrible accident - but when she and Daisy return five minutes later, the body has disappeared. Now Hazel and Daisy not only have a murder to solve; they have to prove one happened in the first place.

Determined to get to the bottom of the crime before the killer strikes again (and before the police can get there first, naturally), Hazel and Daisy must hunt for evidence, spy on their suspects and use all the cunning and intuition they can muster. But will they succeed? And can their friendship stand the test?

Great book/ audio book

The overall book was very good and kept you hooked until the very end. The reading was very clear and I liked that it didn’t have these music because usually it is distracting and annoying.

Excellent old-fashioned murder mystery!

Loved this excellent, old-fashioned murder mystery set in a boarding school in the 1940's. Delicious descriptions, sense of humour, and characters. Would highly recommend.
Gemma Chan's narration is perfection.

Perfect for anyone who loves golden age mysteries

Murder Most Unladylike is a fine start to what has quickly become one of my favourite series of all time. The mystery is solid, the boarding school setting is cosy and the suspense develops nicely. But what I fell most in love with, are the main characters - Daisy and Hazel. I love how they are both brainy outsiders with a passion for detection. This book is a great start to a series which just gets better and better with each subsequent book. Finally, hats off to Gemma Chan who does a brilliant job of narrating.

A great easy read.

This is the first book in the Murder Most Unladylike collection. This book is a great book for those looking for a murder mystery, without the very full on violence. Even though the crimes are not as violent as your normal murder mysteries, this book is still perfectly fine for a person looking for there first murder mystery. The book is lite in the sense that the book is not going to take over your mind. The narration done by Gemma Chan, was clear, and done well, I was able to understand all the words. The narration also didn't have any interference in it too. This book is highly recommended to all who are over the age of 7. This book as well as all the others will soon become your favourite.
