Heidi by Johanna Spyri,
This was a delightful and enjoyable story to read when I was young, and again, when I read it to my own children, and now a grandmother, I have enjoyed it once again. Listening to its beautiful narration by Johanna Ward. This book still had the magic to awaken my imagination and my senses as I once again felt like I was up on the Alm with Heidi. I was captivated by the imagery of the beauty of the mountains, the wild flowers, the clean, crisp air, and the goats. This story conveys how love can melt the hardest of hearts and bind together friendships and companions of all ages. It's a timeless treasure. Well worth the read and the reread even as we age.
