La prima menzione del nome Lison è del 996. Lison è una modesta frazione del comune di Portogruaro, in provincia di Venezia. La chiesa fu costruita nel 1564 e fu consacrata il 24 giugno 1565. Tra gli altri artefatti della chiesa ci sono le 3 arcate marmoree con epigrafi greche. Furono realizzate a Costantinopoli, tra il V e il VI sec. d.C.
