I like the idea of it but......May has this wimpy simpering people pleasing character.
she is going around apologizing for and making up for her husband being a crook.
she is spending more time trying to figure who murdered him, Instead of fixing her self and her run down camp ground. hope it gets better with character building her into an actual person.

Once I could ignore the notion that Mae somehow afforded to not only make ends meet, pay usual and increasing bills and wages, but profited enough in just a few months to fully renovate, including providing little gift basket luxuries and build multiple small houses on the property (bungalows) with sewerage/water connections etc …. but an insurance premium increase was going to force her to sell and declare bankruptcy (Huh ?! couldnt we sell some smaller things before we get this extreme?) … the series is a lot of fun to listen to.

The narration is fantastic and very easy to listen to. Each story is simple and allows for the quirkiness of different characters to entertain throughout. Definitely worth trying the first 3 books if you like cosy, light hearted murder mysteries as theres plenty more after that!

She has such an odd cadence that I assumed the narration was computer generated, but no, she is a seasoned and awarded voice actor of many years standing.
