Publisher's Summary

The classic best seller by Benjamin Graham, perhaps the greatest investment advisor of the 20th century, The Intelligent Investor has taught and inspired hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Since its original publication in 1949, Benjamin Graham's book has remained the most respected guide to investing, due to his timeless philosophy of "value investing", which helps protect investors against areas of (possible) substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies which they will be comfortable with down the road.

Among this audiobook's special features are the use of numerous comparisons of pairs of common stocks to bring out their elements of strength and weakness and the construction of investment portfolios designed to meet specific requirements of quality and price attractiveness.

Heavy Listening

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, However I would trust that my friend would need to be interested in the history of finance and able to cope with some of the more technical ideas and terminology used in this book.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

No. It is too data heavy to make an engaging documentary or film.

Any additional comments?

Having a background or at least a thorough understanding of basic investment ideas and principles is recommended before listening. I attempted to use it as an introduction to investing and was disappointed. I have since listened to it again but I feel others give a gentler and less data orientated delivery to Grahams approach many of which are updated for a more modern portfolio.

Repetitive and thin on detail

Well save yourself a few hours if you want to understand the principles of diversification and margin of safety multiple times over and various general platitudes...left with very little additional knowledge for the time invested
