Publisher's Summary

Bushcraft: 3 Books in 1 includes: How to Heal Oneself in the Wilderness, How to Eat in the Wilderness, and How to Make a House in the Wilderness.

How to Heal Oneself in the Wilderness:

  • The first few chapters focus on the wildlife of a region, with animals and insects being discussed first. The shrubs and greenery are also part of a region’s wildlife, some poisonous and some delicious, so we’ll be exploring that in the initial chapters.
  • The book is also a guide on how to self-heal from unfortunate experiences and interactions with this wildlife and plant life. There are several procedures that can be conducted by an explorer on oneself in order to sustain their life in the wild.
  • An entire list has also been compiled that allows listeners to efficiently pack for their next trip, depending on the region they will be visiting and the wildlife they will be exploring.
  • The emotional aspect has also been covered in this book. A newer perspective on wildlife has been included, which explains how the wilderness can become a source of emotional and spiritual clarity.

How to Eat in the Wilderness:

  • The basics of bushcraft
  • The basics of foraging
  • Identification of various edible plants
  • How to harvest plants
  • Basics of hunting and trapping
  • Bushcraft gears and weapons
  • Foraging snails and slugs
  • Butchering
  • Cooking in the wilderness
  • Uncommon foods
  • And much more!

How to Make a House in the Wilderness:

  • Unlock the mystery of the wilderness in an organized layout
  • An easy-to-understand introduction to bushcraft
  • Seamless progression from basic to advanced bushcraft skills and concepts
  • Includes essential tips and tricks, along with examples of real wilderness scenarios
  • A systematic chapter progression that concludes into building practical skills
  • Wood processing and shelter construction in layman terms

Bushmaster

Cool book. I’m learning a lot. I’m also learning what I don’t really want to learn so that when I am faced with a certain situation I’ll know what modern thing to have with me so I don’t have to bush-it. That being said, I’m excited to try some of this stuff while “roughing-it” in the wilderness.

Great starter with solid basics

The use of this book title is perfect because that is what this book is...a good introduction and solid basics. Nothing really new here compared to other books BUT Dave lays everything out in a way that answers all your beginner questions in a logical manner. Nothing important is left vague - he lays it all right out and will save folks a lot of erroneous trial and error so you can get down to practical skills that are most fundamental.

Great for beginners

I love this book, as I am New to Bush craft, but have always loved the outdoors. I've learned a lot, though there could be a little more info on some things. There are a couple typos, so far, but is still legible. I recommend this book for beginners.

Great book

I would highly recommend this to anyone that is getting into bush craft and those that are already knowledgeable and looking for a refresher or reference. Don't have the expectation that reading one book with make you a master. This book will get you on the right path however.

Solid Introduction to the Basics

After reading this book I feel much more informed about how to handle things if I were to choose to try to camp in a bare minimum survival situation. Bought this after my buddy mentioned wanting to do nature hikes and stuff just to look into the idea, and since finishing this book I lent it to that same friend to read.

Bushcraft is important information for hunters,

This book covers the basic knowledge to know how to be safe and enjoy my time in the wilderness. I do go in the forest and wilderness areas a lot, so I have to know. One topic is next, Bushcraft first-aid, problems may come up and I have to know how to fix them.

A must part of your survival gear

Bought this as part of a "survival" Christmas present. Great item and great price. It's going in the backpack with all the other stuff for the day the "zombies" come! Not really...but just in case one day we need survival stuff...we have it and this is a good item! This book talks about a little about everything. A must!

VERY useful guide

Filled top to bottom with practical, useful information that will let a person learn how to set up a camp for a night or two to a few weeks of outdoor life, to a sustainable long term outdoor lifestyle. While not a coffee-table book with beautiful full-color photographic plates (the author was NOT kidding about this) it has sketches that are useful additions to the wealth of down to earth survival and living wild skills

Great Teaching Tool

With the world seemingly on the brink of falling apart, I decided to get a few books as there are so many things I don't know how to do (Millenial suburban girl) love that this book breaks down some very necessary information and how to do things, definitely worth purchasing! Love it

Handy, helpful book

I picked this up to add to my survival and emergency supplies. I've only read parts of it, but from what I've read it is a handy guide with easy-to-understand instructions. Should we ever have a huge disaster I'll be relying on this more often. It's a great book to have handy, and in printed format

Thank you

This is a fun book to reference while teaching my children about the outdoors. My son loves it! Any book that he will read on his own is a five star keeper. Out of the house and in to the woods!

Amazing

If you get stranded in the woods, it would be nice to have this book. Maybe buy a copy for your survival pack, or two copies since it won't help if you don't read it before needing to actually apply it.

Interesting read with good information.

Compared to several other "bushcraft" books I've either read or scanned, this one is quite detailed in it's explanations of how to do various things and the tools one should have available or make in order to be successful in the outdoors. I would like to draw a distinction between "bushcraft" and the various "prepper" books that have flooded the market. This book sticks to the basics of facing relatively short term challenges in the woods that one might experience if you found yourself lost in the woods for whatever reason

Amazing Book

If you are going to engage in the practice of bushcraft, there are few teachers out there who have the experience and skill level of the writer . This is a GREAT book for the beginning bushcrafter.
