Chances are it's emotional intelligence (EQ) - the ability to perceive, understand, and manage emotions in ourselves and others. Sounds very powerful, doesn't it? Could we really manage our own emotions, as opposed to having our emotions run the show? Could we really effect change in the emotions of our coworkers or family members?

Often, such difficulties stem from the human brain's hardwired tendency to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Modern science demonstrates that this survival mechanism served the needs of our earliest ancestors, but is at the root of many problems that we face today, such as depression, compulsive and addictive behaviors, chronic pain, and stress and anxiety.

Needed Video
This was less about resilience and more about yoga, and the parts that guided you through poses were particularly unsuited to an audio format. None of the information was bad, but I wouldn't recommend it as an audiobook.

Felt more like an advertisement for the authors other works
Not only did this book come across more of an advertisement for the authors other works. it is factually wrong in so many places that made it really really hard to try to hear the message that the author was sending. Not only though, was it factually wrong it was an uninformative at Best. There’s no new information techniques or anything talked about hear that you can’t fine on a two second Google search. I wish I could get my time back from listening to it.

very basic overview
the tone of the teacher is just a bit too sweet and patronizing for my taste. I am sure it's not meant that way but I prefer professors who just speak and present the material with humor and an intellectual zest. the tone combined with the very basic structure of the material left me disappointed. I do have a deep knowledge on the subject so if someone is coming from knowing absolutely nothing about the material they might think otherwise.

Patronizing and offensive
I got this on sale and I'm still deciding if I will return. The author throws integrity, strength, core values and similar business power words around. I don't have an issue with a yoga teacher with no pHd - my issue is someone who doesn't explain what the course structure is and then following it. And then instead talk alot without saying much. Alot of talking but not saying much.

Don't waste your money
Quite frankly this course was never designed to be a book, and should not have been converted to audio. It's designed to be a video. It has little to do with building your resilience, and for more to do with finding joy, yoga, and meditation. Save your money, and watch a yoga / meditation video on YouTube, which is what this course sounds like it was designed to be in the first place. Very disappointed.

The ‘building resiliency’ portion is ok...
I thought the first half or so of this was interesting enough. Some useful nuggets / interviews here and there. But that “portion” is actually the whole problem I had with this audiobook. I purchased this audiobook specifically for learning how to “build resiliency”. Period. I did not buy this audiobook to try to mentally figure out yoga poses, or get into general meditation techniques. Now, I have nothing against yoga, or meditation techniques. But I think we can all agree that trying to learn yoga from an audio aspect, as opposed to a video and audio aspect, is difficult at best, and just a waste of time at worst. I am even open to the idea that meditation, and perhaps yoga, can build mental resilience. However, that’s not how this audiobook was presented as. And as I noted, the “building resiliency portion” was OK. However, does this audio books/course merit being considered as a “great courses”. I don’t think you can reasonable argue that it does. It’s OK/good. But certainly not great Plus, I can’t in good conscience recommend this book. Fortunately, I got it on sale. But even on sale I don’t think it was worth it, considering what I consider my reasonable expectations from this audiobook that were not met.

Interesting title
I was very into learning how to strengthen my willpower but instead I found just another basic book on meditation, yoga and mindfulness. Although the hero journey concept was interesting it wasn't deeply developed. It's easy listen before sleep but I don't feel any more resilient than before hearing the almost twelve hours of this course I believe. Just wondering what was it even about. Not about resilience. I can't imagine how this course could possibly help anybody with PTSD and if you are interested in these techniques she talks in this audio don't forget to buy her another yoga course from audible...
