Book 4 in the Rivers of London series, from Sunday Times Number One bestselling author Ben Aaronovitch.

A mutilated body in Crawley. Another killer on the loose. The prime suspect is one Robert Weil - an associate of the twisted magician known as the Faceless Man? Or just a common garden serial killer?

Before PC Peter Grant can get his head round the case, a town planner going under a tube train and a stolen grimoire are adding to his case-load. So far so London.

But then Peter gets word of something very odd happening in Elephant and Castle, on an housing estate designed by a nutter, built by charlatans and inhabited by the truly desperate. Is there a connection? And if there is, why oh why did it have to be south of the River?

Peter Grant really comes alive as read by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. The quirky characters and London histories threaded through this mystery makes it an entertaining story. Really enjoying this series. If you like a bit of paranormal and love police mysteries then this is the series for you. If this doesn't end up a TV series I'll be surprised.

Thoroughly enjoyed

I really enjoyed these beautifully written books. Its fantasy come to life but its so very grounded in reality. I've never read books like these but I highly recommend them to people who just want to escape into a world of fantasy sometimes! We all deserve a little magic in our lives and these books will certainly help you recapture your childhood and take you somewhere very fascinating and beautiful.
