Publisher's Summary

A driven company executive and a hard-working mechanic must set aside their differences and try to work together.

After spending the last 14 years raising his twin sisters, Ben Baxter is ready to start his own diesel repair business. But the big trucking company he works for asks him to move to Pennsylvania and manage their home terminal shop, which is located in his home town. Ben has to turn the offer down - his estranged family thinks he’s married, and he won’t show up without a wife at his side. His sisters, ever resourceful, hatch a plan to get their brother “married”.

Riley Coleman has been tasked with turning the underperforming home terminal shop of her family’s company into a profit-turning masterpiece. She’s worked her butt off for the company, and is determined to get the corner office her father has promised if she is successful. The key to pulling it off is getting the best shop manager. She knows the perfect man. Unfortunately, he’s not interested…unless she agrees to his terms.

Can they work together despite their painful past and the sparks that still fly between them?

Great

I loved this audio. She’s definitely doing better with each audio. I didn’t have to work to follow everything. Just relaxed and enjoyed the story.

Story:
I’d been pretty upset with Ben up until this book. I was saddened at all of the secrets and miscommunication that caused so many wounds. I loved this second chance, marriage of convenience and getting to know so many new and wonderful characters.

Great ending to the series!

Jessie Gussman is a fantastic author! The Baxter Boys Series is a great saga of brothers overcoming their shortcomings and finding self worth through amazing women. This final book wrapped it all up with the completion of the brothers all being together. It gives some back story and explains why the oldest brother left. Although I’m not a fan of the narrator, the story made up for it and it’s a must read! Although this can be read as a stand-alone, reading about the other brothers first will make the enjoyment all the better.

A really great book about that other Baxter Boy!

We certainly get to know a lot more about the Baxter boys background in this book. Ben had left 20 years ago when he found out some information about his dad that bothered him and took his little sisters to go live with his mom. Now his grandmother is in the hospital and Ben is feeling guilty about not seeing her in so long. Riley is his boss and was his friend growing up. Now she wants him to go to Pennsylvania and get that company running properly. These two characters are great and have so much personality. The other Baxter boys and their wives and family are also in this book. The family all seeing each other after such a long time was very emotional especially for gram. I really enjoyed this book and Ms. Ricketts did a pretty good job reading it, Ms. Gussman has written another beautiful story about the boys and I hope there are more books to follow.
I received a free download of this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and I am very thankful. This review is my own honest opinion.

Ben and Riley

Ben really gave up all for his sisters. Riley is still trying to earn her father's love and approval. He was a piece of work. Loved learning why they both did what they did in the past. His sisters were great side characters. A marriage of convenience between two people who once (still do) loved each other. but parted on really bad terms. Nothing can go wrong with that can it? Really enjoyed hearing from the other Baxter Boys as well as grams was a treat. The ending was so very sweet. Makes me want to read the other books in this series. Loved the narrator!!! Made me feel like I was there.

Never give up and follow your heart.

Wow! Are there ever some twists and unexpected happenings in this. Ben is the oldest Baxter brother and disappeared when the woman he thought was his mother lay dying. He was 14 and his younger brothers never knew what happened to him. He only came back because his Gram needed him. Riley was his first and only love but she always chose her dad over him. It’s interesting as they tiptoe around each other in their fake marriage. In her indomitable way, Jessie weaves this tale and leaves you breathless as it all comes together. BTW my husband was listening along as we were traveling and he gave it a thumbs up.

This Book Deserves a Chance!

Everyone needs a chance or two, including Ben and Riley.
Ben doesn’t realize that he needs a the grace of his brothers. Riley believes that she doesn’t deserve Ben’s grace. When Ben’s grandma gets sick, he needs a favor. Riley has already requested a favor from him to help out in her family’s business.
They make an agreement that will solve both problems. However, their agreement was never permanent and was never supposed to include love.
An inspiring story that demonstrates the power of unconditional grace that love can offer.
The narrator really needs some to teach her how to pronounce gravelly and how it’s different from gravely.

Business and family, clean romance

I really enjoyed the story in this Baxter Family series by Jessie Gussman. Ben Baxter is the oldest brother of four boys, and has two full sisters as well. This book tells of his reunion with his brothers and grandma, and the struggle his love interest has in leaving her over bearing father and boss.

Patricia Ricketts narration is more like a stilted reading than a dramatic character reenactment. Honestly, it made the listening difficult at times.

Good, clean romance

This was a great second chance romance. I love the forgiveness and ultimatums and all the in between. Worth the read or listen!
