Story
“You don’t belong.” No words whispered in anger have ever rung more true. They’re the Kings of Brayshaw with the world at their feet, destined for greatness and in need of control. I’m the girl from the ghetto with nothing to offer and as defiant as they come. They say it doesn’t matter, that I’m one of them now, and nothing could ever change that. Not even me, should I dare try. But they’re wrong. They underestimate how far I’ll go to protect them. Trouble is coming...and they have no idea.

"Trust only those who earn it." A sentiment I follow without direction but holds more consequence than ever before. One decision, five lives, three futures. This is what's at stake. One night, one choice, four broken Brayshaws. That is where we're headed. Unless I stop it. I have to stop it. I have to remind him of what he's chosen to forget. My town. My choice. My ending.

For years, I've dreamt of what college life could bring, and while some things changed, there was always one constant. It didn't matter how wild I allowed my imagination to run, it always led me to the same place in the end. It led me to him. My future was clear, and he was it. Until suddenly, he wasn't. I had a plan, and it was solid. Track down what was hidden away and take pleasure in toying with it. Toying with her. That plan, it worked like a charm. Until it didn't. Turned out, the feisty little thing I found was far from what I hoped for. She was different from all I knew and more than I expected. She was light, and I'm the bastard who led her into darkness. But this girl...she followed with a smile. I told her I break pretty things. She asked me to promise.

Fake. That's what we are. That's what we agreed to be. So why does it feel so real? I thought it would have been harder, convincing everyone our school's star receiver was mine and mine alone, but I was wrong. We played our parts so well that the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, is that someone's always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Publisher's Summary
From USA Today best-selling author Meagan Brandy comes an enemies-to-lovers new-adult romance full of morally corrupt and power-driven teenagers.
"Girls like you aren't exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way."
Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for "troubled teens".
I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit for.
Too bad for them, I don't follow rules. Too bad for me, they're determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings...these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I'm the girl who got in their way.
This is book one in a three-book series.

Gritty⭐️Angsty⭐️Ballsy⭐️Sexy
So glad I downloaded this book!
The best way to describe this book for all you “bookies” (like me=book junkie) is that it’s is a delicious cross between two of my FAV series in this genre,
Fallen Crest by Tijan and Silver Swan By Amo Jones. It’s not as “light” as Fallen Crest but not “yet” as dark as Silver Swan. The setting is the same, a core of seemingly orivelaged hot alpha boys and a “fish out of water” girl, for lack of better term.
Let me tell you though, the
Boys of Brayshaw is decidedly more wicked, in large part because of the main female protagonist (Raven) whose had some life lessons (hard ones) that have molded her into an opinionated ballsy chick! I Loved her!
She didn’t seem at all contrived, her actions with what was exposed in this first book lines up realistically with her background.
Now, as with all the series I’ll mention below, you still have to suspend belief for some of it (I had a pretty wild young adult life but these people...Whoah)
I suppose that’s why it’s fiction! And it’s fiction I LOVE💗
Brayshaw has the intrigue, drama, suspense spicy characters, unknown enemy/friends, subplot hinted but not easily guessed and very serious dark subject matter as well as fun sexy times.
Oh, with gorgeous alpha boys too!
(Crossbreed Mason & Bishop = Maddox) 🥰❗️❤️⭐️‼️
Back to reality; if you liked this here are some recommends, OR if you’ve read/listened to below and are thinking about downloading this;
Amo Jones “silver Swan” series
(Amo heroine badass, and Bishop a lot like Maddox) and then there is;
LA Cotton “Wicked Bay” series
Erin Watt “the royals” series
LA Casey “Slater Brothers” series
Chloe Walsh “ Carter kids” series
Chloe Walsh “ Boys of Tommen”
Penelope Douglas “Corrupt”
Abbi Glines”Fallen too far”
And yes, Fallen Crest by Tijan

Omigod! first grownup high school book.
There is nothing I hate more than PG 13 high school book plot. I swear these author forget what is like to be in high school. Everyone is having sex and they deal with issue like shithy parents and bullies. I love this book so much I can't remember when a audiobook kept me up. I went to work feeling like ugh! and could not wait for my breaks and lunch to listen some more.

No Plot and Misogynistic
This book was way too long and droned on and on without any movement to the plot with unlikable characters. The main character Raven is absolutely miserable and hypocritical with how she bullies others and slut shames other women in this book. The male main characters are creepy stalkers who can't seem to keep their hands to themselves and it's a whole book legit about nothing. Should have been shorter and with a plot but voice acting was superb.

Not great, but entertaining enough
listened due to lack of books. it was entertaining enough, yet eyerolling at the same time. the lack of communication between characters is frustrating and some things that happen in the book are just so ridiculous. I didn't care for the narrators. the guy makes everyone sound nasely and high pitched (even the male characters). may have been better if the narrators were better.

Loved the audio version
The town is run by the Brayshaw, the school is run by the Brayshaw. The Brayshaw are kings and their word is law. So when Raven is relocated to the Brayshaw House by the system she is expected to follow the rules. Except Rae isn't a follower and she ignores rules. She challenges Maddoc, Captain, and Royce by her very existence. But instead of destroying her, they realize they need her. She is one of them, meant to be a part of their family. Too bad she won't allow it.
I'm torn. Yes, I was entertained. I was also disappointed and frustrated. This story is not completely original and that's fine. I don't mind variations of popular books as long as they bring their own flavor to the story. There must be an original angle and the characters must be authentic. I think this story mostly succeeded here. Sure, the guys all play their role as baby mobsters but each has individual touches to make them stand on their own. The Brayshaw backstory is good and the town's compliance along with the Graven rivalry is entertaining even if it is a bit far-fetched. That's to be expected. My disappointment is with Rae herself. She could have been so much more. Her effortless is appealing, her beauty and sexiness and the fact she doesn't use them as expected make these qualities even more. I know others think she is the definition of tough. Not me. Yes, she can fight, yes her mouth goes non-stop. I admit she puts up a good front. But she is a fake. She claims not to care but she follows the set of rules put in place by the system and her upbringing. She's ruled by fear. If she keeps up her cold exterior, self-sabotages, pushes people away then they can't hurt her by letting her down or leaving her. Why is it better to hurt yourself? If she refuses to ever trust, to ever allow herself to be loved WHAT IS THE POINT? She has no life. No reason. It's all a waste. Internal strength is so much harder to have than physical strength. In everything that matters, Rae is a coward. My frustration comes from the lack of communication. This is a book where there are easily 3x more glares, lip licking, and growls than there are meaningful words shared.
The ending was the biggest disappointment of all. You can rationalize Rae's choice any way you want but it is betrayal, pure and simple. I have no choice but to get the next book. I'm all in. I know that it's going to kill me though. There's going to be cheating. You can pretend it's not and technically I guess you will be correct, but again that's just semantics. Bottom line, it will be more betrayal, more lying, more deception and that means cheating. By the time the dust settles and reasons are revealed, I will be interested to see if I care. I hope that I do.
I listened to this book on audio. I think with parts of the story that it may actually be better on tape than in print. Jillian Macie is unbelievably good as Rae. She embodies every aspect of the girl; doesn't hide one thing. I was able to experience her character on a much deeper level than if I were reading about her. Stephen Dexter also did a fantastic job performing as all of the Brayshaws. He captured each one individually. Not an easy feat. There were a couple of missteps with a couple of throwaway characters but there was no real impact. I was impressed with this audio way more than most.

Labored Descriptions, Unrealistic Characters
This wasn't what I expected it to be. I had been told (by a reader) that it had a femdom feel, but while Raven definitely stood up for herself and rarely "bent" to a man, she seemed to be repeatedly out-flanked and manipulated by them: physically controlled and verbally/strategically knocked around, when I was looking for more of a reversal from typical gender roles. But that could just be the fault of that person for mis-characterizing the story - I shouldn't blame the author for not living up to a description from some random reader.
I found the descriptions of gestures and expressions to be annoying and I guess hyperbolic. Eyes were constantly "cutting" and "slicing" to their targets, mouths "smashed" to one side, and shoulders and hips "popped" endlessly. Sounds painful to me. Certainly overblown. I think the author has talent and potential, but these writing habits seem to me something that she should strive to grow out of.
The amount and complexity of social maneuvering in this story is pretty hard to swallow for high school students, and might even bother me if the scenario was a law practice or political environment. At one point Raven says something about hoping that a party would be "fun" and it occurred to me that not a soul in this book ever seemed to be having fun at any point - it was all walking on eggshells and watching your step around other students who had a ridiculous amount of social power, to the point that they even seemed to control the adults around them. The behavior of Raven seemed pretty erratic and hard to fathom at times, but then as a "troubled teen" I guess that's to be expected. Still, most readers want to be able to understand the motivations of the protagonist and I found that challenging. At one point she impulsively cuts a length of garden hose off with a pocket knife and loops it over someone's head to control and nearly strangle them - someone she'd never met before and whom she was having no discussion or exchange with. The later explanation as to why she did it made me think it was something the author added just to amp up the drama.
Anyway, reading this became exhausting, and I found the pacing pretty slow. I'm taking a break from it. I may return and try to finish reading, but probably not.
No complaints about the narrators.

It's ok at the begining.
I gave up when I was 90% done.
I don't get why all the girls find that controlling and violent Brayshaws are considered desirable.
It's ok if I get kidnapped, blackmailed, bullied, and molested if the boy is hot.
I all happens to the MC and she lust after them anyway.
Not for me.
The reader was great.

Hours too long
I liked Raven. Grew up hard and fast. Liked her snark and attitude...except when it came to the 3 boys. I could not stand them. All Raven wanted to do was wait it out until she turns 18 then begin her life. The boys started picking on her before she walked thru the door. Just because she didn't bow down to them like everyone else did, they concocted an elaborate plot to break her. She didn't seek them out, they came after her. Every time.
The story dragged on and on. I stopped listening with 7 hours left. With the bullying by the boys and the missing plot, it didn't hold my interest.

Hooked on brayshaw
This book was so good I listen to the whole thing in one day. It’s very angsty but the characters draw you in immediately. I love how tough ray’s character is and how she is loyal to a fault. I also love how the author develops ray’s relationships with each of the boys. I must say though, I was a little put off by the sharing for a good cause scene, but besides that I enjoyed every other thing about the book. I can’t wait to start the next book. I hope she doesn’t stoop to a low level and lose everything.

Book 1: Great start 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love the chemistry between the three guys and their friendship. Ray Ray fits in well with them and what a hot 🔥 unit they make. This story would have been great as a reverse harem.
There book ends on a cliffhanger and all I can say is “ don't do it”.
The narrators were really good and bring the story to life.

This audio is the best I’ve heard so far
This series of books is amazing. After being gifted book one as an audio I’m fully addicted to them. The voices are perfect, everything that I pictured them to be. I was worried about the females voice being too ‘girly’ for what I was expecting- but it’s spot on.
I now need to go find out what my other Brayshaw boys sound like. Definitely recommend

Hooked from first page
This book has really made my study at so much more enjoyable, I have only recently become a fan of audibles but this book really has made me love them in a whole new way. I can spend hours studying form my nursing degree, and listening to a great story with fantastic characters and how they evolve has made it a pleasure to re-listen too.
The way the raven and he boys tried to stay away from each other but her sassy attitude just drew them in one by one until they found out they were actually protecting her and caring for her just as she did for them, but neither of them would admit it at first how they needer her and she needed them.
