Publisher's Summary

From a USA Today best-selling author comes a supernatural unlike any other....

She is not what you are expecting. She's not what they are expecting, either.

All Petra Kara wants in life is to study archaeology at the University of Cambridge. And she's so close. She's got the grades; she's got the ambition. All she needs now is an outrageous sum of money and experience on an old-world archaeological excavation. If only she could find a way to get rid of her annoying low-grade telepathy. There's nothing Petra hates more than a cheat and a liar, and it's too easy to cheat when you can read people's minds.

When Petra spies an ad for a volunteer position on an excavation to North Africa, she knows its meant for her. But there is more waiting for her in Libya than broken pottery and human remains. A heart-pounding race through the desert under a sky full of stars with Jesse, her sexy dig-mate and newfound crush, ends when Petra slides into an ancient cave-system with strange stones embedded in the walls.

That's where her life changes forever.

As her powers manifest, there are those who think they have a good reason to destroy her before she becomes too powerful.

Petra knows she is far more than just gales of wind. Just how old is she? Has she lived before? Who is the man in her vision with the silver eyes? But the biggest question of all is: Will she survive long enough to learn who she is and what she's really capable of?

Born of Air is the fifth book in The Elemental Origins, a series of captivating YA urban fantasy stories which can be heard in any order. If you love strong female protagonists and elemental magic, then you’ll love A.L. Knorr’s mystical desert adventure.

LOVED IT! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

l was rivitied and entranced from tha first word till the last. Young Petra's story and her mother's melted my heart and l was hooked from the moment the janitor returned to work to interpret for the frightened young woman. Jasper, the Australian on the dig, was upbeat and pretty authentic and l liked that all the people on the dig were friends. Excitement and danger lurks as we learn so many are interested in Petra. Recommended read . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love the elemental series

Petra finds that despite being an orphan, life can bring joy and challenges. Being lucky enough to be chosen to go on a 'dig' to finding powers that were tightening as well as awe inspiring, she grows with the tale. Perfect for YA through adult

Intensely fantastic!

I was riveted to every word of Petra's story. She went through so much pain and worked so hard to learn to control her abilities and still pursue her dreams. The narration was amazing as well. I could see the characters in my mind's eye and hearing all the voices she gave to them, each having just a little something different, brought them to life for me.

Meet the final elemental

This book introduces you to the final elemental teenager from Saltford, Petra Kara. This story is set in Libya, where Petra is involved in an archaeological dig. If you know Abby’s books you know this will not be a simple exercise, and Petra encounters both obstacles and danger, whilst learning much about her nature in the process. Really enjoyed this book, give it a go!

An Exciting Adventure

This is a beautifully narrated book. It is a very exciting and intriguing adventure. It definitely leads onto the next book with a few unanswered questions, it is really well written. I loved learning about Petra finding herself and growing into what she is and am very excited to see what happens next when all of the characters from the previous books are brought together.

Another fantastic story

This book is about Petra, the air elemental. Raised in foster homes after her mother died giving birth to her, Petra dreams of going to Cambridge University to study archaeology. Initially, her 'powers' are telekensis and mind reading, but during a dig overseas, Petra literally falls into a cave and transforms into the air elemental, There are many things I could say about this book, but it will give away spoilers - you will have to listen to it to find out - you won't be disappointed. Gabra Zackman does a brilliant job of narrating again. Will be listening to the next book to see what happens when all the elementals come together.
