Publisher's Summary

Contains books one and two of Bond of a Dragon, a fast-paced adventure fantasy series featuring fierce dragons, powerful magic, and a hero fighting for justice.

Zahara's Gift, book one

Nineteen-year-old Anders lived a fairly normal life until the only family he had was taken away from him. When he finds himself forced to embark on an action-packed adventure, he discovers there is more to the world than he was told. The magical force that flows within everything around him becomes revealed. Dragons, elves, orcs, and goblins lurk around nearly every turn along the path as he pursues his two kidnapped cousins.

As Anders discovers more about his family’s past, he learns of their involvement in the War of the Magicians and the circumstances leading up to the attack of his hometown. When Anders is told about his potential involvement in a prophecy involving dragons and their powerful magic, he will need to make a difficult decision. Will he continue to follow the path that is laid out for him, or can he make his own destiny? Will he ever be reunited with his family again? And if he succeeds, will he ever be able to return to the life he once knew?

Secrets of the Sapphire Soul, book two

Anders knows the war to stop Merglan from reclaiming his grip on the world is just beginning. With no certainty about where or when Merglan will attack next, Anders and his companions must take action to stay one step ahead of the cruel sorcerer and his evil dragon.

As he searches for ways to stop Merglan’s domination of their world, Anders discovers more than he expected. With several nations of Kartania on the brink of collapse, he must make a difficult decision. Is the young rider ready to deal with the consequences he’s facing? Can Anders overcome the odds and unravel the secrets of the sapphire soul?

Awful

The narrator serves between a pastiche of accents, a South Efrican Rollo (?) islander, various brummy, Irish and Welsh imitations. Still, given what he had to work with at least he was consistent. The writing is appalling, the author has written a 'young adult' book but seems to think he can treat the readers with contempt. The plotting is formulaic and the situations contrived but the worst part is the writing, it is redundant and contradictory. One character cant decide if the bottom of her cabin is the ground, or a floor (or a deck). The author hasn't bothered to do the least bit of research and names things whatever he wants. If I die and go to hell Satan will force me to narrate it.

Wouldn't let me 1 star but that's all it's worth

Not just YA, more juvenile fiction. Repetitive and boring. Predictable story with terrible dialogue.

Kept me interested

This was a great book pack and I can’t wait to listen to the next two books. The setting and storyline was great and kept me interested until the very last moment. I would recommend this to anyone who loves dragons and other mythical creatures.

This story is lacking in many areas.

The story has so much potential but the writer needed to add more character depth and development. The plot predictable and boring. There are no good twists or exciting moments. I zoned out and lost track multiple times, and had to relisten because at times the story went nowhere. Alot of the writing is cringe worthy. This is a book that should be targeted to young adults possibly 13 to 14 year olds. I believe that the people giving 5 star reviews probably fall into that category.
Good luck to the author though I really hope that you take this criticism as constructive.

As for the narrator I will admit that he did well with what he had. Many of the accents were interesting. Keep working on your accents and I really hope you improve. I am South African and I laughed pretty hard at the attempt, but at least you were brave enough to attempted it.

Not worth a credit

Got half way through second book before realising it would cost credits for 3rd & 4th book. Not a gripping book, probably for the younger end. Not a bad narrator, apart from the camp Yorkshire accent for Anders.

Great Series

It's not as deep with detail as I usually like but a good casual series.

not for me

Seemed clumsy. The writing style was not to my taste, nor was the narrator.
