Good Narration.

Good Narration. This series was my very first audible book. I have listened to quite a few audible books since that first one.
I am really starting to enjoy listening to audible books and find that I listen to the story now more than the narrator so that is good.
Wonderful when driving long trips and if busy doing jobs around the house.
The humour, sadness and emotion really do come across in the audible version.
Loved the humour of Soren’s bear worrying. (chewing on his claws) LOL.
You also really understand the feelings these two are going through. What a mess of emotional trauma.
You cannot go wrong with this author. Box sets are a great way to keep a series together for easy access.
Three really gripping stories that hold your attention till the end.
BOOK REVIEW
1 - DAMNATION
A great new series coming up.
I read the prequel PERFECTION before this book and it was so sweet. You do not need to have read it but it makes what happens in this book so much sadder.
Jessie has done nothing wrong but been left by her unmated mate. She has suffered 3 years of hurt and then things get worse. Her pack is wiped out by purist rogues that only her and her sister Janna escaped from.
Jess believes she could have done more to help her pack and her guilt at not fighting enough, on top of not being wanted by her mate and living on the run has taken her from being a feisty she wolf to a shadow of herself.
Simon thought he was doing the right thing in hurting Jessie and turning her away and making her hate him. What a ninny.
Why do males not understand that talking can solve so much. IF Simon had told Jessie what was going on, IF he had not hurt her so bad, they may have been able to be together and their respective pack and clans may have been able to help and protect each other from the rogues. Big IF I know.
All in all a very enjoyable read with a good storyline that is leading to a series of books for some of the other lovely characters we meet in this book.
Really want Soren to have his HEA.
2 - TEMPTATION
BOOK REVIEW
Good continuation of this series.
I have fallen in love with this series and was so looking forward to this book. Do yourself a favour and read the other books first, you will get a better feeling for this story.
I loved the background we are given on Cole, oh my, what a man. Loved him but felt for him with his guilt over the young rodeo cowboy who died. He is a wonderful person and did well with what happened to him.
I was really enjoying Janna and Coles story until Janna became some stupid idiot who did not tell Cole what was happening to him. I so wanted to slap her upside the head.
Poor poor Cole, he thinks he is going mad, hearing a voice and feeling things he did not know if they were real or imagined. Janna would have saved him lots of grief if she had explained what was happening to him. He also would have known how to fight the Purity idiots when they had Janna.
There are 2 other people this has happened too but does she ask for advice, NO, she just waffles along risking Coles life. Janna knows how close to the change he must be but she agrees to meet Cole to go dancing, at a rough, rowdy bar. Of course, Janna gets taken by the PURITY blue bloods who have been sending threatening letters which she has told no one about.
Really, a smart savvy woman suddenly does stupid things. Just because she is a wolf she is not invincible. I get annoyed when this happens. TSTL.
3 - REDEMPTION
BOOK REVIEW
MS Lowe is going to kill me with suspense.
I have waited what seems like ages for this story. We get one hell of a teaser at the end of book two, but then we have to wait until over 50% into this book until we hear what happened to Sarah over the past year and how she got pregnant. Now there is suspense in a book, but this was torture. I kept trying to read faster and snarled at anyone interrupting me.
What a sad story for Sarah, she has been through so much since Soren broke up with her and left.
Soren was an idiot for dumping her and had no right to act wounded, but he is a male and they make no sense most of the time.
Unfortunately, Soren is a very quiet bear and hardly says anything, even when he has the chance too and at the end he still had not explained to Sarah why he had broken up with her and left her and what had happened. We know from reading the books but Sarah never had it explained to her. Unless Janna and Jessica told her. Hmm, that’s what was going on behind closed doors.
Loved that Sarah held her own when trouble turned up. Good girl. So glad Soren and Sarah have their HEA.
Then at the end of this book MS Lowe gives us more to keep us on tender hooks for book 4. She is the mistress of suspense.
If you are a fan of Ms Lowe you will love this. If you have read nothing by her before, read this series, you will not regret it.
This is my honest review of this book.

Great Series

I love stories that have romance and humor all rolled up in one. All her books display both. I’ll continue to read/listen to her books.

Blue Moon Saloon

All the stories in the Blue Moon Saloon series were enjoyable and the characters were fun to get to know. Each kind of quirky in their own way. It's great for fans of shifter romances!

Damnation
Second chances at happily ever after. With a past better left in the past, Jessica Macks finds herself faced with a past she rather forget, Simon Voss. A wolf and a bear will never work out.

Temptation
Love is blossoming but when it is with a human...Janna Macks is a wolf shifter who finds herself falling for sexy cowboy Cole Harper. But what happens when the unexpected occurs, Jenna wolf is crying out that Cole is her mate.

Redemption
The story of Soren Voss, burly alpha bear shifter, and Sarah Boone. Soren thought he lost Sarah forever, but when he finds her lost in his bar, she doesn't know what to think. Pregnant and on the run, Sarah is faced with confronting the love of her life, with one caveat...she has a secret of her own.

The voice character is good and the stories flow quite well together, even when you have to stop and start due to commuting. The characters come to life in each book. As always, it is nice to see the character from the other stories as well and find out how they too develop over time.

I voluntarily reviewed Blue Moon Saloon 3 Book Collection as a gifted copy from the author.

Awesome series!

This review will be broken down by each of the three books in the series.

Damnation - Jessica and Simon’s Story
Jessica and Jannah were on the run from rogue shifters who killed their family. They end up at the Blue Moon Saloon where they find jobs and fit in quite nicely. Turns out Jessica has history with the bartender, Simon Voss as they were involved before the rogue shifter attacked their families. During their time apart, they stayed true to each other. Once they get together, they make such a cute couple and a can’t keep their hands or eyes off of each other. The rogue shifters try their nonsense again and Cole, who is human, gets scratched trying to defend Jannah. No one, except Cole, knows anything about it until the next book.

Temptation – Cole and Jannah’s Story
All it took was a single scratch from a rogue wolf to change Cole’s life forever. This book was suspenseful in that you didn’t know what would happen to him and Jannah. I was hoping Victor, the rogue wolf and his band of bandits who stands for purity, would get theirs. This is another book where humans could take a lesson. Cole did a great job fighting the rogues by himself (with some help from Jannah). The other supporting characters in both books were great!

I really enjoyed the segue to the next book. I can’t wait to find out how Soren handles the news of his mate’s condition.

Redemption - Soren and Sarah's Story
Soren and Sarah's story was unique in that Soren thought Sarah was killed, along with his family, in a vicious fire set by Victor and his band of rogues. Sarah, Soren's true love, returned after being on the run, with a secret. Usually it is the woman who has to deal with such things so I am glad that in the end, Soren had to deal with and accept it. Soren was able to put his pride behind him and admit to the love he has always had for Sarah. This book contains loaded with suspense fight scenes that leaves you rooting for Sarah the entire time as well as hoping that Soren will return in time to save her from the evil Victor and his band of rogues. As usual, Ms. Lowe delivered a really great book. It fits right in with the previous two books in this series. This book is no different in that I want to know what happens to these people/shifters long after the book is over.

I highly recommend this series! These books were so good that the time passed really fast! I was at the end of the series before I knew it.

Kelsey Osborne did a great job with the narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great Boxset!

Reviews previously posted on individual books

***Damnation***

"Great start to the series!"

Overall: 4 stars
Performance: 4 stars
Story: 4 stars

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it's fun, flirty and even has a bar fight. I enjoyed the flow of the story and how the author filled in the backstory while telling the current story. I enjoyed the back and forth chatter between wolf and human. It showed while the two were one, that human and animal see the world differently.

What did you like best about this story?
I totally loved the humor which was sprinkled liberally throughout the story.I loved how the girls practically took over running the saloon. They're brainstorming session was freaking hilarious.

Which scene was your favorite?
I loved it when Simon realized Jessica was selling his muffins.

"Muffins? She was selling his muffins?
"Giving my muffins away, he nearly said"

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I have no idea. Sorry.

Any additional comments?
My only turn off in the story is taking the Lord's name in vain. I have little problem with other swearing, but that always makes me wince and jars me out of the story. That said, the cursing is not over the top and fits the moments it's used.

While I enjoyed the narrator, Kelsey Osborne, I kind of wish she had a bit more definition in the male voices. That said, I'm looking forward to listing to the next one.

Would you listen to Temptation: Reckless Desires again? Why?
Totally. It's a great story and my favorite of the series so far. I loved the interaction between the main characters and their wolves. Plus, there was lots of humor.

Who was your favorite character and why?
I am totally in love with Cole. He was so sweet and lovable. I loved how he dealt with the changes that were happening to him.

I also loved the wolves voices inside Janna and Cole's heads.

Which scene was your favorite?
Hmmm, it's hard to say that without spoiling the story. I loved the scene with the Cole, Janna, and the bull.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Totally...and I did just that last night.

Any additional comments?
I have to say the narrator, Kelsey Osborne, impressed me much more with this book. The male voices were much better this time.

Soren and Sarah

I think this is my favorite couple in in the series so far. I love how they slowly made their way back to each other. While both had valid reasons for their hurt and anger, they didn't wallow in it. They were very pragmatic about the situation they found themselves in.

Something I really loved was that there wasn't a silly misunderstanding that had kept them separated from one another. The issues were valid and appeared insurmountable. Too many stories use that cliched and overused trope, imo.

The story was well-composed which is the norm for Ms. Lowe's books. I've never been disappointed with her stories. Her characters are imperfect, but improve throughout the story. The stories are do follow a typical pattern so the reader does know what to expect in the general sense. For myself, this is truly part of the charm. She definitely does *not* let it get stale/boring. I can trust she's going to tell me a fantastic story that I'm going to love.

The narrator, Ms. Osborne, did a fantastic job of reading/acting out the story. She's really grown as a narrator.

I'm looking forward to the next book.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of the audiobook. I also purchased the Kindle version.

Blue Moon Saloon: Three-Book Collection

A truly enjoyable paranormal shifter romance series. This set has the first three stories and each one was great. Each story stands on its own, but the books all build on a common overarching storyline.

Anna Lowe has built up a great clan. I sure hope we get to hear more of their stories. Having Kelsey Osbourne continue as the narrator would be fantastic.

Each Couple has a Good Story to Tell

All three books are about couples that live at the Blue Moon Saloon. Each story speaks about the obstacle that prevents the couples from their calling as mates. Each story is action-packed and heart-wrenching. The Narrator is good at separating the characters and draws you into the story. Each woman is unique in her situation and personality, and the two brothers are typical hero types. Our third male has a cowboy attitude with veteran PTSD, but finds peace in the arms of his mate. I enjoyed each story and felt the tensity of the action.

I listened to some of these for the second time

I have listened to the first two books before, and read all three of them, but when the author offered me the chance to hear them all together I could not resist. I would recommend anything Anna writes, and Kelsey is a fantastic narrator.

Damnation

I have been saving this series because I knew I wouldn't want to read just one at a time.

Jess cannot believe her eyes when she walks into the bar where she is going to be a waitress and sees Simon. Of all the gin joints. She had loved Simon she is was a teenager, and he had left her high and dry. How the he** was she supposed to work for him and his brother Soren without wanting to kill him? Since he was a bear shifter and she was just a wolf shifter, that whole killing thing was not going to happen.

Simon cannot believe Jess is here. He thought she had been killed when her pack and his clan were wiped out by purist wolves. He knew she now hated him, but she didn't know why he had shunned her in the past. It was all a pack/clan thing that had not gone the way they had hoped. The two alphas had agreed that a mating should take place, but his brother Soren had been the intended make in the agreement. He hadn't been able to bring himself to tell Jess that all those years ago.

So, what a mess. How will these two manage to live and work in the same place with all the past hurt and lies? Can Simon get Jess to forgive him? Can Jess's wolf convince her that the past is the past and Simon is still her mate if she will give it a chance? And what about the purist wolves that killed the rest of their pack, are they still looking for the two that escaped?

You will fall in love with the brothers, and the sisters. Just buy the whole series now.

Temptation

I loved this second installment of the Blue Moon Saloon series.

Cole is a human cowboy that was scratched by a wolf during a bar fight. He does not understand why there seems to be a voice inside his head that is urging him to claim Janna as his "mate". Janna is a waitress at the local bar and is a wolf shifter. She has always liked Cole, but lately her wolf keeps calling him her mate. That seems strange since she didn't feel the whole "fated mate" vibe when she first started seeing him. What changed?

This is a little different spin from a lot of wolf-human stories where the woman is usually the human half of the story. We learn a little about Cole's past and what brought him to live in seclusion and work a menial job at a stable. The purist wolves will also make another appearance and bring the whole Cole/Janna thing to a climax.

Redemption
I loved the story of Soren and Sarah. This book starts where Temptation left off,

Soren thinks Sarah died when his bear clan was attacked by purists. Her family's cabin was destroyed and she was never found. Sarah had been hiding from the people that destroyed her town. She wanders into a new town and can't believe her eyes when she sees Soren. Unfortunately, she has a little problem that is hard to hide and she doesn't know how to explain it to Soren. Soren, on the other hand, has a act of his own. Sarah had no idea he is a bear shifter or why he was forced to leave her years ago. Well these two be able to forgive their pasts and embrace their future? And what will happen when the purists come to call?

Blue Moon Saloon

This books set has the first three books in this series and I have to tell you, once you listen to this you will be begging for more. I absolutely loved the couples in this series and how love can truly conquer anything that is thrown at them.
Narration is amazing! All the emotions and characters this series has and yet Kelsey can make them all just different enough to know who is talking.

Fantastic Series

In the first book DAMNATION Jessica and her sister Janna, wolf shifters, are drawn by destiny towards The Twin Moon Ranch, it belongs to a pack of wolves run the by Alpha Ty Hawthorn and his family (A great series by the way which starts with Desert Moon) after their whole pack was murdered by the Blue Blood rogue wolves. Twin Moon Pack take them in and arrange for them both to have jobs and a place to stay at The Blue Moon Saloon. There is only one problem with this as far as Jessica is concerned the saloon is run by two brothers, bear shifters, Simon and Sorin Voss. Simon being the bear shifter who deserted Jessica years ago leaving her with a broken heart.

Both the Voss brothers are here at Blue Moon Saloon because the same group of rogues murdered their family and burnt their village killing everyone but them, Sorin's mate was also killed. So the stage is set, each of these four lost souls are trying to make new lives in new surroundings after suffering devastating losses.

At first, the atmosphere between Jessica and Simon is very tense but eventually, they begin to connect again and the true reason why Simon gave Jessica up comes to light. The story is both moving and exciting and has lots of action. The descriptive writing of Anna Lowe really brought the area to life for me. I could close my eyes and see the colors of the desert! Unfortunately, they not only have to work at their relationship they still have the Blue Bloods to contend with as they have found them again.

In the second book TEMPTATION, we have the story of Janna, her story involves a human Cole Harper, he came to their aid in the first book and was infected by the werewolf blood and is now turning into a wolf. He and Janna were drawn to each other from the start, in fact, the reason he was in the Blue Moon when he was injured was to see Janna.

Cole begins to think he is going mad when strange things are happening in his head and his abilities seem to be changing, he can hear so much better, for one thing, smell much better for another. He has no idea what is happening he thinks he is going mad. Meanwhile, Janna knows he is her mate and tries to help him adjust and survive the Change, which is not always possible it will take a very special human to do this.

The Blue Bloods make another appearance to complicate matters and nothing can be taken for granted.

In the third book REDEMPTION, we have Sorin and Sarah's story. Sorin didn't only lose his family when The Blue Bloods attacked he lost Sarah, the human, who was his Destined Mate.

Now many months later, having watched as his brother and the girls find happiness Sorin gets his second chance at love and happiness when Sarah gets off the bus just outside the Blue Moon, she's thin, she's frightened, she has scars after trying to save her parents from the fire which killed them. Sorin is both shocked and elated to see her alive but then he notices something which could change everything - Sarah is pregnant and there is no way the baby could be his!

I really felt for Sorin his elation at seeing Sarah alive, his hurt at the thought of his mate choosing another man over him, his need to help her and the baby whilst trying to remain strong, for himself and his clan/pack. Over time we find out what happened in Montana. We watch as Sarah and Sorin build new bonds as she is welcomed into their little community, working in the cafe run by Janna and Jessica (Damnation and Temptation) and helping Sorin too.

But their peaceful life is threatened again, by The Blue Bloods lead by Victor White. I was on the edge of my seat as both Sarah and Sorin fight for their very lives and their future. I would love to tell you more but that would be one spoiler too many so what I will say is you definitely need to listen to this book - the characters, the descriptive writing style and the wonderful narration by the super talented Kelsey Osborne cannot be bettered.

I was given this audiobook collection as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
