About this listen

In Washington Township, Michigan, on Valentine's Day, 2007, Stephen Grant filed a missing persons report on his beloved wife, Tara. The stay-at-home father of two was beside himself with despair. Why would Tara abandon him and their family? Was she involved with another man?

Stephen's frantic, emotional search for Tara made national headlines, and the case was featured on Dateline among other television shows and news outlets. But key elements in Stephen's story still weren't adding up: Why did he wait five days to go to police? What was the nature of his relationship with his children's beautiful, 19-year-old babysitter? Why did Stephen have cuts on his hands, and random bruises? Then, the police made a gruesome discovery.

Parts of Tara Grant's body started turning up around the woods near their home. The truth was finally coming to light...and, after a two-day manhunt, Stephen admitted to having killed Tara―first strangling her, then cutting her body into 14 pieces before burying them. This is the shocking true story about a bitter, cheating husband whose crimes were revealed by the Blood in the Snow.

Sometimes I wondered where the story was going but I really enjoyed all the background information on the characters. If I was actually reading the story I don’t know if I would have finished the book.

I stuck with it

While the story and content were great, not that murdering someone and disposing of them in the way this husband did is great, I feel the story could have been told more succinctly. There was a lot of repetitiveness which distracted me from the core of the story.

Too Long

I wanted to turn this off so many times but doing that doesn't make any part of the story untrue or not happen. I hope that with all my heart that Tara is at peace and her children know love and peace in the rest of there years. I hope with my whole heart that Mr Grant never obtains bail, that he forgets his children so they can move on with their life.
The narrator does an amazing job telling the story. At times I swear you can hear him chocking back tears but he does such a good job over all telling the story impassively. This case should be a text book example of the media needing to know when we'll enough is enough. How they conducted themself through this trial is abhorrent. My last note is to the coppers that investigated this case. Man I have a whole new appreciation for your job. It's a hard story to listen to/read but it is impactful and will stay with you.

Ifyou are in Australia and are the victim of domestic or sexual violence I hope this gives you the strength to reach out to help yourself and your kids. Call 000 for help or the white ribbon society 1800737732. Know that you are doing the hardest part already by staying. It's so so much easier to reach out for help. Be safe friends.

Not for the faint of heart

Drawn out and over explained. Goes off on too many tangents unnecessary to the story line. Dry!
