About this listen

Believe in nothing...and kill for something....

When a man's dismembered body is discovered at an abandoned quarry on the north Norfolk coast, DI Tom Janssen and his team must wade through his secretive life to figure out how he met his end.

The victim was a quiet man, well respected by those who knew him, and someone often willing to help local charities with his free time. Presenting an image of himself to the world of a simple, inoffensive individual, he never allowed anyone close enough to look behind the mask. As his associations become clearer, the team realise that there are others with secrets of their own...but are they willing to kill to keep them that way?

With a community reeling from such a gruesome and seemingly macabre act of violence the pressure is on to get a result. When the investigation crosses paths with another operated by the Major Crimes Unit, Tom begins to question who the real victim is and why, to some, the murder is such a low priority?

Blood Runs Cold is the fourteenth novel in the Hidden Norfolk crime series by the multi-million selling British crime writer, JM Dalgliesh, the author of the Dark Yorkshire books. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, Damien Boyd, LJ Ross, Rachel McLean, and Simon McCleave.

i love a police procedural with a decent plot and a team that works together. This series has been okay to this point -- although the character back-stories are dull and unconvincing. Tamara's overbearing mother is a needless distraction and Alice and Saffi add nothing, particularly as Alice (female wife) has the same 'dopey constable' voice as Eric (male).

Greg can do a variety of voices though, and Geordie Cassie is a cracker. Her lines lift the whole thing.

This plot wasn't so great -- and the introduction of bullying senior offices (tired old trope) wasn't enjoyable. Hope the next book is better.

A bit thin

The prologue leaves you up in the air..... until the very end. And although I should have realised that this has become Dalgleish's signature style, it left me wondering where on earth this book was going to go.
But it progressed as a great pplice investigation, and by the time I finished it, and there was no other book to follow, I felt I was leaving a great group of friends.
as usual, well narrated by Patmore.
A good book, as usual!

Keeps you guessing to tbe last chapter

Once again Tom Eric and Cassie lead us through another gripping tale keeping us guessing right to the end.

Continuing Brilliance

I am no longer finding this series interesting. I’m tired of hearing conversations with a precocious, spoiled child and the conversation generally is becoming inane. Cassie is irritating. Disappointing as the stories are good.

Disappointed
