***Blood and Roses***
The explosive finally of the incomparable Beatrix Rose series. I cried for young Isabela Rose for her ruined innocence and her loses and heart breaks. This is an incredible gripping series and I feel sad that it ended for Beatrix but only the beginning for Isabela Rose. thanks to Mark Dawson and I'm glad the legacy of Beatrix Rose will go on. Mark Deakins excell in his narratives.

Beatrix Rose novels are wonderful
In Cold Blood, Blood Moon Rising, and Blood and Roses are best viewed as one novel. I love these books! Beatrix Rose is seeking to find and kill the people responsible for forcing her into exile and kidnapping her daughter. Rose, a former British espionage agent, has a terminal disease and her time is limited. Guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat!
There is a second Beatrix Rose series about her time in exile in Hong Kong prior to this series (actually written after this series). It is available for Amazon Kindle, but is not available in audiobook format.
Mark Dawson is an excellent author.

Great Rose Finale?
Would you consider the audio edition of Blood & Roses to be better than the print version?
Couldn't have the audio edition without the print version to perform, and I tried to read and listen together. With this method, I must admit that I often got so engrossed in the audio that I sometimes forgot to read when there was an action scene being vividly performed with different voices.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I kept waiting for Bella to be a mini-mom, but she didn't come close until after a string of amateur mistakes.
Which character – as performed by Mark Deakins – was your favorite?
His performance of King impressed me because I've met guys like King and Deakins' voice was right on the mark.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Bella vomits in the staircase, the moment was not emotional, but it moved me to think, "That's what really happens".
Any additional comments?
Mark Deakins' performance was awesome and he couldn't have done it without Mark Dawson's awesome novels to perform. For me, the entire Beatrix Rose series was five stars. I hope it's not just my gut feeling that Bella might blossom into the same kind of Rose her mom was.

Great read and listen..
Sooo, Beatrix went out with a bang but didn’t finish off the most important person on her kill list; Control. She didn’t kill him but she wounded him pretty badly but he was going to make it. That is, until 13 year old Isabella got involved after her mother died. Wow! She was definitely her mother’s daughter.
This was an exciting set of 3 novellas, each better than the last, and each ending with a lead-in to the next one.
Now that Beatrix is dead and Isabella is on her own this is where I started the Isabella Rose’s series and it was great. Also, Napoleon Ryan narrated it and there’s no better narrator than him. Just sayin’
No romance and the F-bomb was used 18 times.
As to the narrator: Another great job by Mark Deakins.

A Fitting End
A really good conclusion and a fitting end evev if the inclusion of John Milton only became a couple of sentences.
I've enjoyed the build up to this finale with the training of her daughter to carry out the final act and right to the end with the involvement of Pope once more for the extraction.
Enough of external characters but keeping Beatrix as the hub right through.
I now have to start with the Isabella books and after her build up in this I must say that I am looking forward to listening g to them all.

I think that this is the best of the trilogy. Still don’t like that Isabella sounds like an infant when she talks with Beatrix. I think it’s the use of ‘mummy’ that does it. That said this is a cracking yarn. Looking forward to the Isabell Rose series now.
