Alexander Fitzpatrick is one of the most wanted men in the Western world. A Howard Marks character, but far more dangerous, his wealth, accrued through drug-trafficking, runs into millions. For the past 10 years there has been no sighting of him. Has he gone to ground using an alias, or is he dead?
When an ex-police officer from the murder squad is found shot in a dank squat, Anna Travis is pulled onto the case. As the body count rises and the investigation becomes ever more complex, suspicion falls on Fitzpatrick.

For LAPD homicide cop Harry Bosch - hero, maverick, nighthawk - the body in the drainpipe at Mulholland Dam is more than another anonymous statistic. This one is personal. Worth a listen.
As ever an enjoyable listen from La Plante and the narrator Samantha Bond does a brilliant job. It may be because this is an abridged version but it seemed very clipped and to the point, with little insight into the feelings of Anna Travis and very little about the rest of her team's investigation into the case.
