Epic in Scale, Precise in Detail
This Audiobook was so immensely large in scale I am impressed at the detail and finness in many situations in which scenarios were handled. Not only were the characters largely fleshed out, but so were the arenas of battle and weapons of war.

absolutely fantastic adventure. fans of farsight/tau lore should pick it up. sicarius is as ridiculous (and awe inspiring) as ever.
farsights legacy is a great story for an anti-hero of the tau'va and this book leads well into the first farsight novel (not on audible...yet hint hint).
narration is the among the best of the tau audio. a lot of other stuff leans too heavily on older lore inspiration, instead of the the more recent established lexicography

Grim Dark
As a traveling sales rep i spend a lot of time in my car and I listen to a lot of books on Audible to pass the time. That is to say I’ve noticed my tastes of late have gotten more “refined”, not in the snobby sense but more that I know what I like and what I don’t like. Sadly I didn’t like this book. I love the Warhammer 40,000 universe and am always looking for more Xenos lore, but this book suffered from too much Grim Dark. Phil Kelly did a commendable job portraying the Tau and John Banks is a great narrator, but the Space Marines lack depth and are almost comically stereotypical. For a lot of the fans that is exactly what they are looking for, but sadly it wasn’t my cup of tea.
If you’re looking for Tau lore or are really liked other Space Marine novels then definitely pick up this book, but if you’re like me and can’t stand to hear another “For the Emperor!!!!” then give this one a pass.

Enjoying every moment from both sides of the war
I'm still fairly new to Warhammer 40k lore. As a Tau player, I enjoyed the combat between the imperium and the various forces of the Tau. The battlesuit combat was described in an excellent manner. Hats off to John Banks for the excellent narration and to Phil Kelly for the material itself.

Amazing reading but the plot shield
The voice acting for this book was awesome a performance that was clean and on point from start to finish.
The main weakness was the plot shield for tge main characters. Now you know that main characters live through the impossible but when this point is made pointed out time after time it stops veing impossible and just annoying, the characters are saved by a thousand last second saves, miracles, and random one shots. This can be done well but in this case it seems just lazy on the writters part.
The rest of the story was fun though seeing each sude adapt to the other. The advanced tech of thr Tau put against the ancient Tech of Mankind makes for some really great battles.

Farsight and the Ultramarines 8th Company
A well written book showing the perspectives of the Tau Empire and the Imperium of Man that takes place during the final months of the Damocles Crusade with interesting characters and heroes that develop well during the course of the story. This is a good audiobook to listen to. Overall I give this a 4.9 out of 5 if I could. Sometimes the accents / character voices do not stay consistent. The only complaint I have.

Pure action
Loving both ultramarines and the farsight enclaves I found myself struggling on who to root for.
Packed with action between battles suits and assault marines, however, often the same phrases are used throughout and seemed almost repetitive.
Although a logical ending I felt it was a bit lackluster and definitely found the tau side more interesting
Saying this I enjoyed it thoroughly and John Banks narration was superb

Surprisingly good for a Warhammer book
I find most warhammer books tend to just go through the motions, essentially do very similar stories with minute differences and usually containing multiple fights with an enemy that doesn't really have any effect on the story.
This one however was a big surprise, its a Spacemarine book hut it could also be a Tau book, both sides have say in the story and neither is purely good or bad.
The meeting of these two races who play off each other makes for interesting dynamics in both fights and conversations, and the internal struggles of each side also show that these are relatable characters not just copy paste archetypes.
So yes I would recommend this book :)
