I've just discovered Brookmyre and he's my new favourite author for this type of book. It's long but doesn't drag in any way.. nothing superfluous. He is also very much the writer.. not just relying on a good story, but painting it beautifully with his writing style. The characters are well developed and the story kept me utterly engaged. The narration was excellent.

I loved this book and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the annoying male reader. However the well conceived storyline and above all the lead female character, as well as the support characters, are wonderfully depicted. Should have bought the book on this one and may just do that as it is a well worth a second go.

A story that makes you wish you could listen to the whole book in one sitting. Just when you think you have figured it out they throw in a curveball which makes you reassess your assessment. Excellent.

Couldn't stop listening! Best book of 2018!

This book was was incredibly narrated, with an excellent storyline to back it up. It keeps you guessing and guessing right up until the end. Definitely the best book Ive read this year.

Slow start but I couldn't quite put my finger on who did what until 3/4 way through so not at all predictable and all the twists and turns kept me interested. Well narrated.
