About this listen

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

Bitten Point is a town populated with shifters, hidden from the human world. But someone has discovered their secret and is hunting them. Changing them...

The monsters are getting bolder, and if the townsfolk don't stop what's happening, they won't be able to hide from the world much longer.

Contains mature themes.

While enjoyable I gave it 4 stars as I listened to the dragon series first and found those books to be more engaging and funny than what this series was, but still enjoyable for easy listening.

An enjoyable listen

I believe I enjoyed these more in audible than when I read them. Narrator does a superb job bringing these characters to life.
I found the parts with the bad Uncle Parker being his usual egomaniac self, dragged out and annoyingly long when reading, but it felt worse in audible.
It really spoils the story.
BOOK REVIEWS
1 - CROC’S RETURN
3.5 stars. Start of a new series but shades of F.U.C series.
This book just did not hit the high points of Eve’s usual style, hence the 3.5 stars.
Very little laugh out loud moments like in Kodiak Point and a background story that will carry on through the series just like in Furry United Coalition. Evil mutant shifters due to the lab doing whatever it is we have yet to find out.
I did love Princess the Chihuahua, she was fun. Caleb’s surprise at being a father was great, he passed out, that was a good laugh.
It was a good story of boy disappearing on his girlfriend, going into the military and then needing to come home to sort himself out. I was sad when I read why Caleb left. How horrible to be tricked like that by the military but I would have thought he would have listened to his beast a bit more. Even with no father to guide him and find balance, he seemed eager to believe his croc was bad. WHY? I know he gave lip service to it later in the book stating he was a male and they never ask for help.
I think there was not enough explanation. Renny never asked why he did not read her letters. We know he was under the Naga’s spell but she didn’t.
At the beginning I really thought Renny was going to give Caleb a run for his money and make him work his way back into her heart, but Renny just seemed to forgive him because her body wanted him, hello, she is not a shifter so did not have that mating pull. Just a little too much of, well he is Luke’s father so that is okay.
Caleb redeemed himself to me over the story and while I empathise with Renny for being a single mother working two jobs she was not the heroine I wanted her to be.
Sorry, just not as good as what I expect from Eve. I hope she improves the others in this series.
I am looking forward to reading Melanie and Wes's story in book 4. I cannot wait to see Andrew get his just rewards and I hope Melanie gives them to him.
2 - PANTHERS CLAIM
A good second book in this series.
In this book we get more action and information on what is going on. Very worrying stuff.
We also meet Cynthia, a hybrid wolf bear shifter who kidnaps Daryl as she thinks Daryl has something to do with her missing friend. The interaction between these two is hilarious
A fun read with lots of silliness thrown in to keep your mind of the bad things happening in Bitten Point.
I loved the text messaging between Cynthia and her mother. Had me in stitches.
3 - PYTHONS EMBRACE
3.5 stars. Book 3 in this series just brings up more questions to be answered. Who is the top dog (pardon the pun) behind the creation of these poor monsters? Yes, some are just rotten but most started out as people who have now lost everything.
Aria and Constantine were great together and this story did its usual Eve Langlais thing of making me laugh out loud.
Love the interaction between Aria and Princess.
This series is a lovely funny light hearted read but I am never going near the swamp.
Book 4 is going to have a fair bit of question answering to do. What is Wes playing at?
4 - GATORS CHALLENGE
3.5 stars. Finally, Melanie and Wes get their story.
Best of the series, just, as I did love Pythons Embrace. It all came together so well and I had the read I have wanted since book 1.
Melanie is just the best and I loved her character.
Wes redeemed himself and I totally understand why he did what he did.
The twins were fantastic, what a handful.
Loved that the Kodiak crew came to help.
I thought this was the last book in this series, but I love the way this ended and cannot wait for the next book to let us know what happens next.
Still feel like it is shades of FUC but I am enjoying it for its characters.

I believe I enjoyed these more in audible.

Love the characters, storyline’s and the humour. These books I couldn’t stop listening to. Great for when you’re organising your house, renovating or just listening before you go to sleep.

Take a bite out of boredom
