There was an infection going around that no medical doctor would acknowledge. To them, it was just a virus. At least, that's what Lucy was told.
Lucy Blake considered herself an aficionado of vampires. But to Lucy, they stayed in the realm of fiction. She did not believe they were real - not until the night she was bitten.
