Why is every film or tv programme a sequel or a remake? Why are people so f***ing hung up about swearing? Why do the asterisks in that sentence make it okay? Why do so many people want to stop other people doing things, and how can they be stopped from stopping them? These and many other questions trouble David Mitchell. Join him on a tour of the absurdities of modern life - from Ryanair to Richard III, Downton Abbey to phone etiquette, UKIP to hot dogs made of cats.

Hartley and David Hewson rethink literature’s most infamous married couple, grounding them in a medieval Scotland whose military and political upheavals are as stark and dramatic as the landscape in which they are played.

At last, the definitive audiobook about perhaps the best cabin crew dramedy ever filmed: View from the Top starring Gwyneth Paltrow. In Ayoade on Top, Richard Ayoade, perhaps one of the most 'insubstantial' people of our age, takes us on a journey from Peckham to Paris by way of Nevada and other places we don't care about. It's a journey deep within, in a way that's respectful and non-invasive; a journey for which we will all pay a heavy price, even if you've waited for the smaller paperback edition. Ayoade argues for the canonisation of this brutal masterpiece.

Publisher's Summary
In Toast on Toast - part memoir, part "how to act" manual - Steven Toast draws on his vast and varied experiences, providing the reader with an invaluable insight into his journey from school plays to RADA and from "It's a Right Royal Knockout" to the Colony Club.
Along the way he reveals the secrets of his success. He discloses how to brush up on and expand your technical and vocal skills, how to nail a professional voiceover, and how to deal with difficult work experience staff in a recording studio. He also reveals the dangers of typecasting, describes the often ruthless struggle for 'top billing', and shares many awesome nuggets of advice.
The end result is a book that will inspire and educate anyone who wants to tread the floorboards. It will also inform (and entertain) anybody who simply wants to discover what a jobbing actor's life is actually like.

All memorable. It's a right royal knockout rundown the standout for me. Thoroughly appreciated the pronunciation of Orstralia. Loved it, struggled to finish. I didn't want it to end. Succulent narration. A bit rude. Have a listen!

Absolutely hilarious!
Would you consider the audio edition of Toast on Toast to be better than the print version?
Yes, definitely! I tried to read the print edition, but it falls flat without the voice of Matt Berry as Steven Toast. He could even make the phone book sound funny!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had to listen to this book twice in a row, as I laughed so much the first time round, I missed a lot of the jokes. If you enjoy the TV show 'Toast of London' you will love this audiobook.

I really should put my glasses on before selecting audiobooks
This was clearly not a book about making toasts. My jaw fell so often l just couldn’t stop listening to the completely politically incorrect content of Steven Toast. The poignant hypocrisy, the insane events, the outrageous imagination are a must listen. I can’t say l laughed but l did that uncomfortable giggle so often you could have mistaken it for laughter. Who makes up this stuff?

Missed the mark
Don't get me wrong: I loved Toast of London, but three hours straight of the gag without any offsiders didn't work for me. Couldn't finish it, as much as I admire Matt Berry's commitment to the bit. Clem Fandango's audio production was amazing though.
