Publisher's Summary

Available as an audiobook for the first time, read by band members "Fat Mike" Burkett, Eric Melvin, Erik "Smelly" Sandin, and Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta along with special guest narrator musician and comedian Tommy Chong. In addition, the audiobook features exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, "Bouncy" (a NOFX instrumental), "La Pieta" (Fat Mike piano & vocal song about his mother), and "Young Drunk & Stupid" (live NOFX song from an Idaho basement gig in 1986)

NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories is the first tell-all autobiography from one of the world's most influential and controversial punk bands. Fans and non-fans alike will be shocked by the stories of murder, suicide, addiction, counterfeiting, riots, bondage, terminal illness, the Yakuza, and drinking pee. Told from the perspective of each of the band's members, this audiobook looks back at more than 30 years of comedy, tragedy, and completely inexplicable success.

"A rock n roll story of epic proportions"

this book is quite simply epic. not only do you get a great insight into NOFX the band, but you get a history lesson on the LA punk scene, the grittiness of a dangerous time on the am West Coast that have birth to some great music.

you also get a pretty eye opening look into drug use, it's devestation and consequences.

This book is naratted by the band themselves which is a lovely added touch.

you don't need to be a nofx fan, or even a punk fan to enjoy this book - if you have a general interest in music, or just love music biographies, you'll love it

    recommend.

I have never been a huge nofx fan, but this book is great for anyone who loves the gritty, messed up, and drug and booze fuelled hijinks. It even made me cry a couple times. Amazing

"This makes other rock bio's sound like playschool"
What did you like most about NOFX?

Its brutal, uncensored honesty peppered with dark humor. The audio book is narrated by the band members themselves, past and present, as well as featuring a plethora of famous cameo's from people involved along the way. You can get much more intense than hearing NOFX's first hand accounts of drugs, death, gangs, sex, murder, road trips, disasters and more straight from the horses mouth!

What was one of the most memorable moments of NOFX?

Endless back story of each individual's personal struggles. Too many, too dark and too rediculous to mention

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Only their live albums would be any kind of comparison and this is a tell-all book

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

Go for the Audio book, its read out by the band members and people involved in their stories which adds another level of intensity you wont get reading it out yourself. NOFX aren't even close to my favorite band but if you are a fan or at least know what these guys are like on stage, then maybe you are thinking this will be a good funny chaotic read.... you will not be disappointed. One serious warning: I guarantee, after listening to this you will not be able to look at or listen to these guys in the same way again!

Lost me at butt plugs. Like I can hang for a bit, but it felt like the last 10% of the book was less about NOFX, and more about Mike's sexual lifestyle. Great book up until that point.

Absolutely loved it!! It's like Eric Melvin touched my souls, Smelly Almost brought me to tears, El Jefe made think about my own Mexican family growing up and fat Mike mad me laugh and think about my own vices. Jello and Tommy were great and sincere in there readings. I Fucking love this book and it makes me appreciate NOFX even more. Thank you for both guys, you all did great reading your parts!!

    "Loved these stories"

Since the band (and a couple of friends) read the their own book, it was really engaging when they would tell the stories of the small happenings a events, that lead to NOFX as we know them. Being a fan of the band, this was a treat for me. But, if anything, the tales are fun, scary and put things into perspective with early punk culture. The guys putting out this book had to take courage and some long lost emotional stress. Several parts of this book I feel will stick with me for some time. Just because a few topics hit pretty close to home. A great book for anyone. ...maybe anyone.

Deep, sad, funny, inspirational, scary, educational, insightful, disgusting, and one of the most addictive books I've listened to yet. If you are a fan of NOFX it is deeply satisfying to hear where they came from and what they've been through. Extremely well written and well spoken. Thanks for sharing guys! Love you! Glad you are all still alive and doing well.

    Story
"At times dumb, at times touching, always real"

With a title like this, you know the contents of this book are going to be pretty interesting.

The Hepatitis Bathtub could be just a collection of dumb road-stories, but it transcends in covering decades of the bandmembers' lives, following their transformation from crazy kids to parents, business owners and semi-mature human beings who are interested in much more than the next lay or the next fix.

Narrated by the guys themselves (and by special guests Biafra and Chong), The Bathtub is a very real read/listen. This is a tell-all book in the truest sense of the word, with many of the stories really being confessions, the guys revealing things that not even their bandmates knew about before now.

You get to hear the lowest of the low points and the highest of the high points. Sex stories, love stories, and some really dark stories. Punk is not a glamorous enterprise.

The only weakness of the book is that some of the events are covered by all of the guys one after the other, and at times they have pretty much the same perspective on what happened, so the end result is repetition. More editorial discipline should have been exercised there.

I have to say though, that The Bathtub is probably the best band-biography I've read or listened to, and I wager there's a few life lessons in there for all of us among the entertaining craziness.

    "A life changing experience!"

I've been a nofx fan since the late 80's. I've been to countless shows over the years and even drank with fat Mike before a show in Vegas, in the huntridge parking lot! But after listening to this book, I realized that these weren't just anecdotes about life in the road or having a fucked up childhood. These were life lessons on communication, recovery, discovery and overcoming adversity. I found myself relating to much of what I heard coming from these guys. I laughed, I cried, I even laughed and cried while achieving an erection. 10 out of 10. Although the members of nofx have no idea who I am, it felt like listening to friends telling old stories. Thanks guys, for being honest and pulling out some old skeletons for us to see and hear. Truly SN amazing experience. Now.. I need to go back and listen again!

It does not disappoint. it's so BRUTALLY honest and real, an unflinching account to all the ups and downs of this group of misfits. Listened to it in its entirety in 2 days and I am going for round 2!
