I love Elizabeth Gilbert's narration..it's a beautiful book. The book is a collection of essays and musings on the idea of marriage and how she reconciles her concerns over the institution with genuine love and requirement to get married.

It spoke to me on a personal level as I to am in a "wife less" childless marriage, which is a relationship that not many people discuss.

A smart woman, with an engaging voice, and an interesting story. There were two main threads for me - (1) Much of it was debating the issue of marriage and drawing on history,, and (2) The inner ruminations of someone going through a severe anxiety disorder - such pressure and overwhelm associated with being trapped into a decision to marry while coping with past trauma from her previous marriage breakup. There was a feeling of life or death urgency around this decision which was a bit suffocating at points.

I love anything Liz writes, and this is no exception. She is so very talented, and her narration is beautiful. As an anthropologist and newlywed I adored the book - I feel very differently about marriage than I did before.

I loved Eat Pray Love but this book was truly disappointing. I wanted a story and instead I got history lesson on marriage through the ages with small snippets of personal memoir.
