Publisher's Summary

Harper

I was perfectly content with my life. My career was booming. I traveled. I did as much charity work as I possibly could for the homeless, and I was perfectly happy with the choices I'd made.

At least...I was - until my sister, Dani, came up missing. As an international correspondent, she traveled to war-torn countries, and she'd stepped a little too far over the line. With my sibling kidnapped and running out of time, I had no option except to approach Marcus Colter for help.

Seeing Marcus again after having him break my heart over a decade ago wasn't easy, but to my relief, the old feelings I thought I might still harbor for him were completely gone. He was like a stranger to me. After meeting with him, my only emotion was gratitude that he was going to try to rescue my sister.

Before I could relax about feeling nothing for Marcus, I met Blake Colter, and realized every emotion I thought I'd have for Marcus was suddenly present for the gorgeous US senator.

It was ridiculous. I hadn't seen Blake since we were kids.

How could I have given myself to Marcus so many years ago, yet have these feelings for his twin brother, Blake?

The more time I spent with Blake, waiting for my sister to be rescued, the more confused I became about my attraction to him.

Then, my entire world came crashing down when I found out that everything I thought was true for over a decade wasn't the truth at all.

What happens when a woman finds out that a man she'd both loved and hated for over a decade never really existed at all?

My favourite!!

Is it just me or does each book in JS Scott’s Billionaire series just keeps getting better and better?!! I looooooved Blake and Harper’s story, and I adored that they still harboured feelings for each other 12 years later! What set this book apart was that it was written in dual first person POVs which added more emotional depth to each character! We are even treated to chapters told from Marcus, the twin brother of Blake, which sets the perfect prelude to the next book!

Stop using the word “female”!

What is with this author using the word “female” instead of woman!? This is the second book I’ve read from her and I had hoped it was a fluke or character thing in the last one. But literally in the first sentence of this book the lead uses the world female instead of woman to describe someone he does not like! “"Female" is a scientific term that refers to the sex of a species that is capable of producing children. The term "woman" refers specifically to human beings, while "female" could refer to any species. Reducing a woman to her reproductive abilities is dehumanizing and exclusionary. When you refer to a woman as a female, you're ignoring the fact that she is a female human. It reduces a woman to her reproductive parts and abilities.” If, as an author, you want to use the word in a grammatically correct way, the word female is appropriate as a description word. “Female lead” “female author” “female firefighter”. But just using it instead of woman “female he had sex with” “female I don’t like” is not ok. I don’t read romance novels to be belittled by the patriarchy. I have every day life for that. This author needs to be more respectful of women.

Blake finally gets his Woman

Confusion, miscommunication kept them apart for 12 years. Can you keep true soul mates apart, with this couple you can't. They find each other and start a new. The narrator is awesome and brings the characters to life. This series has been wonderful to read, the character are intertwined which gives you glimpses as to what is continuing on.

Ms. Scott knocked a Home Run

What made the experience of listening to Billionaire Unknown the most enjoyable?

Elizabeth Powers is a super Reader. She can express the meanings of the printed word better than anyone I have listened to & I listen to a lot of audio books. She made it terrific to listen to.

What other book might you compare Billionaire Unknown to and why?

I don't believe you can compare this book with any other simply because it was unique. I haven't read or listened to any book close to this one. Oh, there are other books that are great on their own but this one was special to me.

Which scene was your favorite?

Where Harper finally tells Blake the real reason she kept running away from him. That scene was so poignant as to make me proud of her for having the courage to admit her love for him & risk it all to tell him the truth.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Greatest Love of All Time.

Any additional comments?

Just a beautifully written book. I highly recommend this book as it had the right amount of sex & a terrific love for a lifetime. Even though it is fiction, it is totally believable that this could actually happen although 12 years lost because of a misunderstanding is an awfully long time.

An unconventional second chance

Blake and Harper had an encounter neither could forget or let go of ten years ago. Except she thought he was his twin brother Marcus, and by the time other events occurred to shatter her blissful happiness about their encounter, it was too late for Blake to be able to correct the mistaken identity, and he was convinced that he blew his only chance. Fast forward to Harper needing help from Marcus to rescue her sister from terrorists in Syria. Since she doesn’t seem to feel any more sparks between them when they meet again, Harper is convinced she is over it and can finally move on, but then the sparks fly when she spends time with Blake, and suddenly she doesn’t know what to do. When the truth finally comes out, they have a chance to reignite what was between them, but has it been too long? This was a very sweet second chance romance, without really feeling like one. The reasons they missed their chance at the beginning happened so quickly, they didn’t really get a chance to explore their feelings for each other, and for years, she didn’t even know the truth of the encounter. They both changed a lot over the years, but when they reconnect, the spark is still there. It’s passionate and steamy, as well as touching and sweet as they find each other again. I’ll admit it’s a bit of a trope, the mistaking one twin for the other, but it’s not an unrealistic one. It works here, and adds a fun level of interaction between the brothers as well.

Second Chances

A beautifully written book for second chances. Harper would do anything to save her sister, including getting help from the man that broke her heart. Or did he? Blake has loved Harper for as long as he can remember. Truly beautiful.

Mistaken Identity!

Honestly I think that Blake Colter has to be my favorite in this series. His love for Harper is like no other and how he holds her in his heart for years is just so endearing. Blake, the U.S. Senator, and Harper, the caring architect, reunite years after Blake and Harper had an amazing sexual encounter years ago…but Harper always thought it was with his twin brother Marcus, and hated him because he never acknowledged her after that experience. If you are looking for some complications between two people…this story is for you. Mostly I loved that when Harper went to get help from her nemesis Marcus, she still has confused feelings for him…huh..guess that was because it wasn’t Marcus at all…either now or back then(12 years earlier) . Honestly…it is Marcus’s love for Harper that is giving this book 5 stars….I think that Harper still has something to work on Just love this series..and J S Scott really has a great writing style.

I enjoy listening to Elizabeth Powers, she makes the listening experience a joy. This story is set upon a miss understandings. Blake whose heart belongs to one woman and has for 12 years, he never thinks though that he will get her., her miss understanding that she was with Marcus his identical twin ,. Sit back and enjoy. You will laugh , cry and get annoyed but it is a love story.

Brilliant book.

Blake and Harper have the biggest misunderstanding of all time. I was so glad they got to the bottom of it and found a way forward past everything that had come between them in 12 years. Danis situation was a tough one to hear about . I look forward to seeing how she recovers, and Marcus's role in it!
