About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Jackson Brodie has relocated to a quiet seaside village in North Yorkshire, in the occasional company of his recalcitrant teenage son Nathan and ageing Labrador Dido, both at the discretion of his former partner Julia. It's a picturesque setting, but there's something darker lurking behind the scenes.
Jackson's current job, gathering proof of an unfaithful husband for his suspicious wife, seems straightforward, but a chance encounter with a desperate man on a crumbling cliff leads him into a sinister network-and back into the path of someone from his past. Old secrets and new lies intersect in this breathtaking new literary crime novel, both sharply funny and achingly sad, by one of the most dazzling and surprising writers at work today.
'The stand-out read of the summer. It's a masterclass in brilliant writing and whether you've read the earlier books in the series or not, you'll enjoy it.' Independent
'Like all good detectives, he is a hero for men and women alike.' The Times
'Laced with Atkinson's sharp, dry humour, and one of the joys of the Brodie novels has always been that they are so funny.' Observer

Wonderful northern characters
I loved it, truly disturbing theme with beautiful sense of justice and humour. Perfect narration

Engaging narration of a fabulous book
Kate Atkinson has great wit and a literary style that never disappoints me. Big Sky is funny and thoughtful at the same time. Jason Isaacs is the perfect narrator... very easy on the ear!

A great story but needs a serious editor
I really enjoyed this story but was very frustrated with the story plot. It jumped all over the place - at one stage I thought it had been recorded out of sequence.
This lack of appropriate plot sequences diminished what could have been a great story.
Instead of being great it was good.

Atkinson's Achilles
A huge fan of Atkinson, I found this book disappointing. Lacks character complexity; multi twists.

Another great story
Highly recommend that you read the series in order to understand the complexities of Jackson Brodie’s life. If you have then you know what to expect - lots of disparate stories dovetailing into one grand finale with a cast of flawed, some awful but some some lovely characters. Hope there will be another instalment.

Excellent narration of a clever jigsaw of a book
The narrator is utterly brilliant. Jason Isaacs by turns evokes empathy and disgust. Having read the hard copy of some Jackson Brodie books before listening to subsequent instalments, I can say the choice of narrator is perfect. It's a compelling and cleverly interwoven story. Call it a crime novel if you must categorise it, but it's superlative in that genre. I found myself silenty cheering for Brodie as he breaks the law for good reasons. He's a thoroughly decent and underappreciated bloke. There's nasty, disturbing crime at the centre of the story, but it's a satisfying tale nontheless.

Brilliant
A brilliant end to a wonderful series. Atkinson manages to make sense and believability of crazy colliding worlds. Big Sky is satisfyingly full circle. Very well read

THE NOW LEGENDARY KATE KATE ATKINSON.
I adored this book. Ms Atkinson at her superb best. Want to re read immediately. The Dickens of our times.

Grim, funny, poignant
I am an Atkinson devotee so always a little bias in reviewing her work but I loved this most recent Jackson Brodie episode. It’s not so much him - but the entire cast of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ characters: their pasts, presents, hopes and failures. It was sad, funny, horrific in parts too. I wish I could write like Kate Atkinson!

Probably the best of the series (so far)
The story was well paced and Jason Issacs is a very good narrator. He should redo the whole series. A good listen
