 श्रीनिवास रामानुजन हे भारतीय गणितज्ञ होते. ते अलौकिक गणिती होते. रामानुजन हे गणिताचा विचार करीत असे. झोपेतही बहुधा त्यांचा मेंदू गणिताचाच विचार करत असे म्हणूनच ते झोपेतून जागे होताच अवघड अशी गणिती सूत्रे लिहून टाकत. या महान गणितज्ञाने वयाच्या सातव्या वर्षापर्यंतच अभ्यासात एवढी प्रगती दाखवली की त्यांना कुंभकोणमच्या माध्यमिक शाळेत दाखल करण्यात आले. त्यांच्या असामान्य बुद्धिमत्तेमुळे माध्यमिक शाळेत असतानाच ते अनेक प्रमेये आणि गणिती सिद्धान्त सांगत आणि ते ऐकून त्यांचे शिक्षकही चकित होत.१९१४ ते १९१७ या अवघ्या तीन वर्षांच्या काळात रामानुजननी बत्तीस संशोधनपर लेख लिहिले. १९१८ साली रॉयल सोसायटीने त्यांना आपले सदस्यत्व बहाल केले. त्यावेळी ते फक्त तीस वर्षांचे होते. त्यानंतर त्यांना केंब्रिजच्या ट्रिनिटी कॉलेजची फेलोशिप मिळाली. ही फेलोशिप मिळवणारे ते पहिले भारतीय होत. रामानुजन यांची जयंती राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस म्हणून साजरी केली जाते. या महान गणितज्ञाचे आयुष्य जाणून घ्यायला आपल्याला नक्की आवडेल.©2020 Storyside IN (P)2020 Storyside IN Mathematics
