Monster stuff is weird to me and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I will die on that hill. THIS monster stuff?? Give me all of it and more. I will read this again, maybe a third time, before the year is up.

A great way of connecting book one with the story of the two kings, it had me on the edge of my seat, love the spice, plot and narrators

The only thing I don’t like was how she kept to high moral of what to tell when to tell . Other than that this was fantastic

I have NEVER rated a book BEFORE I was finished! I am about 85% finished and I just couldn’t wait! am SO SO glad I decided to listen to the second book! I didn’t even know it was out and when I saw it was in duet it pretty much sealed my decision. I didn’t anticipate the storyline though! The plot certainly does thicken and I am heartbroken because WTAF TEM! I almost don’t want to finish it because I am scared of what’s going to happen. I’m so invested now and I my heart can’t take it. BTW I have never listened to anything as spicy as these books and I have listened to a lot of dark and spicy books but this takes the cake and I’m so here for it! Apollo 🥵

✨ November Book Pick for Spicy Book Club hosted by @sydneybooksociety lead by @etidae ✨

Since this is the second and last book of the duology I won’t list any tropes (for fear of spoilers) 🙌 Overall, standing ovation for the narrators 👏 👏 👏 Duet narration and narrators did a really good job. The book itself ended in a way that was not what I like to see in stories but happens fairly regularly where a female becomes too powerful during her journey and must be punished for it. It was emotional and bittersweet ending to a long, smut filled story that barely resolved some of the overarching world problems. While it was a fun and questionable ride, at the end of the journey I’m unfulfilled, unsatisfied, full of questions and lamentations.
