Honest and Inspiring

Any additional comments?

A very open, honest and gut wrenching read. Good narration. Raised the question for me: Does God take away things from us? One we will only fully know the answer when we meet Him face to face.

Long time fan

I enjoyed the story. My only problem was the narrator. It could have been so much better if SCC did the reading. I had to speed up the narrator to get through it.

Loved this book. Very open, honest and relatable. Grief can be overwhelming at times but with God's help we can carry on.

Truly a "great adventure" to read/listen to

Would you consider the audio edition of Between Heaven & the Real World to be better than the print version?

As a person with a visual impairment and ADHD audio books have rekindled my love of reading. I loved reading the book, but could also catch things I missed by listening. And the book has pictures :)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Between Heaven & the Real World?

That's a hard one, but I'd have to say the way Steven spoke of Maria's death and all that happened afterwards. The way that God placed people and things in their lives at just the right time, and the way that God used Maria's story in so many lives was so powerful.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think Steven's sharing how he wrote "Cinderella"

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"SEE"

Any additional comments?

This book brought back so many memories, Steven's music is such a part of my spiritual journey, including praying for him and his family after Maria died. The only thing missing was hearing him narrate the book himself, but Paul Michael did a great job.

Such a good book

I haven’t done very many reviews of Books, but I just had to write one for this book. This is one of the best testimony books I have read (listened to). It is honest, raw, redemptive and beautiful. I Have always loved the music of Steven Curtis Chapman, but I have so much more respect for him now.

It hits home.

You know as he talks of his career, marriage, and family that he is going to talk about the car accident where he lost his 5 year old daughter and nearly lost his teenage son who was responsible. It was hard and made me think hard about our family's history of ER visits, the cars that have been totaled by my kids who all survived and the 5 at home that aren't driving yet. If you are married, have kids, are grieving or dealing with depression this was an inspiring book.

heartfelt

this is a truly inspirational story! I really enjoyed getting to know Steven Curtis Chapman as he grew up and how he ended up becoming the entertainer we all now know him to be. I love that he is open with both his sorrows and his joys.

A story of real life

The first third of the book is unassuming revealing the humble nature of Steven Chapman. The book seems to crescendo and then hold a steady tenor towards the end.
It builds in strength with each chapter. I highly recommend listening to this real life story. It reveals a faithful God and the sustaining hope he gives those who trust Him.
