Für allerlei Betrug traf ihn in der Unterwelt die Strafe, dass er einen schweren Marmorstein, mit Händen und Füßen angestemmt, von der Ebene eine Anhöhe hinaufwälzen musste. Wenn er aber schon glaubte, ihn auf den Gipfel gedreht zu haben, so wandte sich die Last um, und der tückische Stein rollte wieder in die Tiefe hinunter. So musste der gepeinigte Verbrecher das Felsstück wieder von neuem und immer von neuem emporwälzen, dass der Angstschweiß von seinen Gliedern floss.
