Story
When Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their Children's and Household Tales in 1812, followed by a second volume in 1815, they had no idea that such stories as "Rapunzel", "Hansel and Gretel", and "Cinderella" would become the most celebrated in the world. Yet few people today are familiar with the majority of tales from the two early volumes, since in the next four decades the Grimms would publish six other editions, each extensively revised in content and style.

Not at all sleep inducing
This is more a dramatic reading than it is soothing storytelling. The narrators’ voice changes for new characters and their expressive exclamations with shouts at varying volumes do not make for relaxing listening at all. I found it far more jarring than relaxing.

Really excellent listening! Perfect bedtime listen
Both the voices and the stories were perfect for us. The female narrator is hypnotic.

very different format. several different narrators reciting some classic literature. the acting is dramatized which is great. my mind drifts, so the small bit of attention grabbing brings me back ... Zzzzzz

Great!
I listen to this book to help me get to sleep and no joke it works. I haven't gotten to listen to all the stories just yet, but the voices are calming and definitely get after what I'm using it for.

Performs purpose perfectly
I really enjoy the range of stories included; there are exerts from some of my favourite books. Beautifully and soothingly narrated to really calm the mind. It is just what I was looking for. Only issue is I'm personally not a great poetry lover and find these short bursts a little boring. However, they're often less than a minute so I can't complain too much.

Not what I was expecting
The stories are of various lengths and some are a bit too ‘lively’ for bedtime.
I don’t understand why these are stories for stressed out adults because the content does not reflect that at all
