Ludwig Bechstein (1801 - 1860) war etwas später dran als die allgegenwärtigen Brüder Grimm, doch sind seine Märchensammlungen nicht minder berühmt. Und auch wenn er einige Märchen im Repertoire hat, die vor ihm schon die Grimms aufgeschrieben hatten (Schneeweißchen, Dornröschen), so präsentiert er uns doch zahlreiche Geschichten, die ganz neu sind und somit eine unerlässliche Ergänzung darstellen.
