Publisher's Summary

Jean Paul Getty and John Templeton are great examples of "bargain hunters" or "contrarians" who seek to find promising stocks that are out of favor or fashion: and therefore undervalued. Slightly different are those who study cycles and waves to determine regular and (hopefully) predictable patterns of favor and disfavor in the market.

The Secrets of the Great Investors series is a collection of presentations that explain, in understandable language, the strategies, tactics, and principles that have produced great wealth, and how you can improve you financial future. History's greatest investors used powerful investing philosophies to produce superior results, and you can learn from their successes and mistakes.

let down by the first 4 chapters

Let down by the first four chapters. In my opinion, these were a waste of time. Otherwise, a worthy listen.

Very informative on economic cycles/trading tactic

This is a short Book/Presentation.
Covers the root of theories and shares the motivations and concepts behind them. I think this is quite a good introduction for someone who wants to expand on finance knowledge.
Though I have been in Finance for a long time - got interested in investments only recently to start to focus on my own portfolio.
And this book gave a great start in terms of sharing the lay of the land.
The first part gives an intro to macroeconomic cycles followed by a glimpse into the start of the world of technical analysis using Indexes and other economic data. Quite interesting.
This was followed by Investment Styles - also quite a good intro. Gives an idea of where we stand.
I personally will follow this with more contemporary books to complete the picture.
