Evocative landscapes and history

This is my first audible and what a performance the narrator gives - shame that he's not English and consequently mispronounces the odd word: thing-ag-ummie becomes thing-gummie?

The narrative spins between the present and bleak tales of the early settlers and their tough lives.

This was such a different experience to reading previous books by Raban - happy to join this narrator on another literary adventure.

You have to concentrate as Raban's narrative jumps around on his travels - so maybe best not listen this when you are doing busy work?
