About this listen
In the cruel labyrinth of life, I found myself standing amidst the wreckage of my dreams, a mere echo of the life I once knew. The American dream, meticulously built, crumbled before my eyes like a fragile house of cards, leaving me stranded, homeless, and alone.
With scarce resources, I faced the relentless onslaught of adversity, only to be confronted by an even graver challenge. Cancer, a silent assassin, had infiltrated my body, staging a hostile takeover.
My soul thrust into the abyss, Renal carcinoma, (kidney cancer) a sinister force, had seized my left kidney, clotting and metastasizing to my heart, creating an insidious 80% blockage of my left ventricle. My diagnosis would take me to three hospitals before they would be capable of handling my condition. A team of 8 doctors, 4 oncologists and 4 cardiologists and 3 anesthesiologist at Ronald Reagan Hospital would perform surgery on me. I am given a 70-30 chance at surviving a 12 Hour operation. In the unforgiving grip of life and death, I grappled with the fragility of mortality. Just my God and me.
