Summary

 The morning after the silhouette waved from the yellow-lit window, Luna returns to the abandoned house on Elm Street. She finds the front door unlocked. Inside, the child's bedroom is stripped bare — except for a single photograph tacked to the wall: Caleb's school picture, but his face is a void of black paper. The caretaker at the gas station tells her about the night the family vanished, and the woman who came looking for them a year later — a woman who never left. Luna follows a trail of wilted flowers to a grave in the woods, marked with no name. The dirt is fresh. And the porch swing at the house is moving, even though there's no wind.
