And it's bringing friends — thunderstorms. As the sun sets. Middle Tennessee woke up to scattered storms before sunrise, those are tapering off now, but don't get too comfortable. Today climbs to 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. And scattered thunderstorms fire back up after 10 A.M. South winds pick up around 10 miles an hour, while tonight stays mild at 68 degrees with continued storm chances. West Tennessee's sitting at 65 degrees with a few lingering storms around 4 A.M. You'll hit 80 today with about 30 percent storm coverage this afternoon. Tonight drops to 67 degrees, but storms become more likely after 7 P.M. East Tennessee's got the heaviest action right now at 60 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11 A.M., then scattered activity through the afternoon. High reaches 76 degrees with southwest winds gusting to 20 miles an hour. Tonight stays warm at 65 degrees with a 30 percent chance of storms. Looking ahead. Looking at the week ahead, while wednesday's the day to watch. A cold front sweeps through with widespread showers and thunderstorms — near 100 percent coverage. Damaging winds will be the main threat, highs reach 80 degrees before temperatures crash overnight to the low 40s. That's a 40-degree drop in 12 hours. Thursday clears out with highs in the mid to upper 50s, friday warms back to the upper 60s under sunny skies. The weekend looks beautiful — mid 70s Saturday, upper 70s Sunday.
