About this listen

Ezra was the favorite science teacher in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. However, today, he felt the sorrow of his parents' death. He sat down, staring into the empty classroom. He brushed away a tear as he realized it had been nearly eight long, harrowing years since his parents had died in a horrific explosion caused by a tiny red bead created by the demon Draco.

It wasn’t the first time the demon had caused the family of Ezra Baggersly sorrow. Ezra knew time was a merciless master and marched onward despite his grief. Still, his life required him to deal with the living, including his students. His love for his wife Alice and daughter Gwendy helped him to settle—if only a little—about his parents’ deaths.

In so many ways, Ezra’s life was nearly perfect—like a fairy tale. He lived with his wife and daughter, as well as her parents and grandparents, in a large, magical three-story prairie home. Their home stood on 360 acres along Rattlesnake Road. Creeks, meadows, a barn, a hen house, a greenhouse, a nut grove, and a fruit grove filled the land. His parents had such a short time to live their authentic selves as magefolk that Ezra felt their deaths were even more vile than necessary. The teasing of the Demon, leaving behind only his parents’ shoes and one ruby red bead, left Ezra feeling the horror of the event every day of his life.

For listeners who love slow-burning suspense, modern witchcraft grounded in family ties, and a demon that creeps closer as the world of Tecumseh hosts Frontier Days Celebrations, the Ezra Baggersly family endures the horror of Ezra's battle with the demon, Draco.

The ancient lore of the Thunderbird rose from the waters of Lake Thunderbird. With the water slushing from the Thunderbird’s powerful wings, the family was sure their help was at hand. Would the Thunderbird be able to save the family or be defeated by the Demon Draco?
