A person can reject truth, abuse privilege, and into deep rebellion, yet God remains willing to speak and ready to forgive. When pride refuses to listen, affliction may become the means God uses to bring the heart low, not to destroy but to restore. When a person finally recognizes who God is and turns to Him in humility, mercy is still available even from the lowest place.
