About this listen
The SBA (Small Business Administration) was created in 1953, with the intent of providing loans to small businesses (of which there are an estimated 3.4 million these days), and also to give Small Businesses the opportunity to bid on and get Contracts with the different Federal Government Agencies (of which there are far more than the Founding Fathers intended).
Whereas common sense should place the maximum number of employees at somewhere under 100 in order to be considered "small", the actual number used these days became the standard benchmark.
We spoke with Bruce De Torres, Director of Communications for the American Small Business League (https://asbl.com/).
Bruce also hosts the American Small Business Podcast

Bruce is also deeply involved with Don't Cheat Women, which is designed to help women navigate the SBA maze, and generally offer assistance for women looking to start their own business. That websithttps://www.dontcheatwomen.com/
Bruce joins us to speak about how the SBA has veered from its original intent, and how most of its loans are made to large corporations/businesses, and that, while Small Businesses are supposed to get a higher percentage of government contracts, it is indeed LARGE businesses (or their smaller but affiliated/owned companies that get the lion's share of these contracts. He also speaks about how women are still being shortchanged and why Don't Cheat Women exists.
We get into the Digitalization of IDs and Currency; how the Federal Bureaucrats are mismanaging the SBA; the Phony Pandemic and its attack on Small Business and the Middle Class; and lots more.
