 1700 anni fa nel 325, l'imperatore Costantino organizzava, con un imponente sforzo logistico, il Concilio di Nicea: un'assemblea di tutti i vescovi cristiani, con lo scopo di discutere le posizioni teologiche di Ario (che daranno poi vita all'eresia detta appunto dell'arianesimo). E' sorprendente che gli esponenti di una religione che, solo venti anni prima, veniva perseguitata con durezza, ora si ritrovino all'ombra dell'imperatore, e per suo volere, perché per Costantino l'unità della Chiesa è un requisito fondamentale per la solidità dell'Impero.
Insieme al professor Marco Sigaudo, storico e insegnante di religione, addentriamoci nella storia affascinante del Concilio di Nicea: una storia che, pur essendo lontana 1700 anni, ha strette connessioni anche con il nostro mondo di oggi.
