About this listen

In Esther chapter 3, the story takes a dark turn. Haman's pride erupts into hatred, and a royal decree is issued that threatens the complete destruction of God's people. From a human perspective, the situation appears hopeless. Yet Scripture reminds us that even in moments of great evil, God's providence is never absent. In this episode of Reading the Bible Daily with Dave, we walk through Esther 3 and consider how the Lord remains sovereign over wicked schemes, hostile rulers, and unjust decrees. Though the city of Susa is thrown into confusion, heaven is not shaken. God is already preparing deliverance. This passage also points us forward to the gospel. Just as a decree of death loomed over the Jews, humanity stood under the sentence of death because of sin. But through Christ, that decree has been overturned. God's redemptive plan always triumphs. Key Themes: • The rise of the enemy and opposition to God's people. • God's sovereignty over human sin and injustice. • The unseen hand of providence at work. • Christ's victory over every decree of death.
