 The pages outline the beginning of Max's troubles after he stages a spectacular performance at school to impress the girl he likes, Roxanne. As a consequence of his actions, Max is forced by his father, Goofy, to go on a father-son fishing trip to Lake Destiny, Idaho, to spend more time together. Max tries to salvage his reputation with Roxanne by claiming he and his father are going to the Powerline concert in Los Angeles, leading him to surreptitiously change the map on the road trip. The excerpts show the conflict escalating and culminating in Goofy finding out about the map change, followed by their reconciliation, and ultimately ending with Goofy and Max successfully making it to the Powerline concert and Max introducing Roxanne to his father.
