The Prescott National Forest, Deputy Forest Supervisor Ashley Hom approved funding for 11 projects in Yavapai County to improve infrastructure, enhance forest ecosystems, restore forest health and improve water quality. The Yavapai Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) reviewed a total of 14 project proposals submitted to the Secure Rural Schools Title II Program. Proposals are reviewed to ensure they support local communities and their ties to National Forest System lands. An emphasis is placed on promoting community engagement, partnerships, collaboration and local leadership, as well improving the sustainability of local economies, ecological services and stewardship opportunities on public lands.
