About this listen

Welcome back to Season 2 of Truth and Freedom podcast, where awakening begins with asking the questions mostpeople are afraid to ask. I’m your host, Dr. Dan Amzallag — and this is not just another podcast. This is a journey into awareness, courage, and truth. In today’s episode, we will discuss the topic of “The Narcissism Epidemic: Freedom Through AwarenessWe are living in an age of mirrors — whereeveryone is reflecting, but few are truly seeing. Social media has become a stage for performance rather than presence, where validation replaces vulnerability, and attention masquerades as affection. In this environment, narcissism doesn’t just survive — it thrives. But the truth is, narcissism isn’t new. It’s as old as human insecurity itself. What’s new is how it’s been normalized, romanticized, and, in many ways, rewarded. We glorify confidencethat crosses into arrogance, ambition that ignores empathy, and charisma that conceals manipulation. The result? A silent epidemic — one that is erodingauthenticity, relationships, and the way we even define love.

Narcissism at its core isn’t about self-love.It’s about self-obsession born from self-loathing. It’s a defense mechanism, a wall built to hide a fragile identity that cannot tolerate criticism or vulnerability. The narcissist’s greatest fear isn’t rejection — it’s exposure.Exposure of emptiness, of imperfection, of anything that threatens the illusion of superiority. So they create a world of control — control over perception, control over people, control over emotions. But underneath that control ischaos. And the tragedy is that many who fall under their spell don’t realize it until they’ve given away their peace, their confidence, and sometimes, even their sense of self.
