About this listen

Grab your sisters and cinch those corsets! This is a retelling of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice like no other, performed by a remarkable new cast with an original score by Grammy-nominated composer, Morgan Kibby.

Elizabeth Bennet has no intention of settling for any man, or frankly any life, that isn’t lived entirely on her terms. She will marry for love, dance when she wants to dance, and—if at all possible—find a quiet spot to read without being interrupted. But when she’s introduced to the wealthy and completely insufferable Mr. Darcy, everything she thought she knew comes into question.

Get an intimate glimpse inside Elizabeth’s mind as she reckons with what it means to stay true to oneself while opening your heart to new possibilities.

Starring Marisa Abela as Elizabeth Bennet, Harris Dickinson as Mr. Darcy, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Bill Nighy as Mrs. and Mr. Bennet, and Glenn Close as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

Editorial Review

I can never get enough Pride and Prejudice
Janeites rejoice! This is the Pride and Prejudice adaptation you didn’t know you needed, but which is definitely set to become your repeat comfort listen. The chemistry between Darcy and Elizabeth—voiced by Harris Dickinson and Marisa Abela—is absolutely off-the-charts in this multicast, immersive dramatization. Also featuring Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Bill Nighy, and Glenn Close (as a deliciously superior Lady Catherine De Bourgh), this all-star cast rivals every other adaptation I’ve devoured over the years, not that there isn’t always room for more Lizzies and Darcys in my life! Prepare to be swept away!—Emily C., Audible Editor

Before I started listening to this book, I anticipated a pleasant reading of it. I certainly didn't expect it to be acted out by various players, including sound effects and music. It's akin to the radio plays of days gone by. I have read this book a number of times and greatly enjoyed this dramatised verson. Thank you and well done to all involved.

Wonderfully executed

This is an abridged version but has been adapted well. Glenn Close as Lady Catherine de Burg is perfection! I enjoyed the 'nod'' to one of Jane Austen's other books and Lizzie as the narrator is refreshing. Beautiful ending too.

The actors, the music, the story-telling... all sublime!

Darcy a little dull and Lizzy a little smug. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett steal the show.

I loved this version of p & p, the actors were so perfect and entertaining to listen to. This is an awesome audio book, highly recommend it, brought out to sound like the modern times if you didn't already know the story.

Loved everything about it. The sound effects really made it possible to get lost in their world. The only criticism is that the adapted story was a tad short. But it was still a great experience overall! 😊💓

Loved it!

Loved the aura of authenticity. The bones of Austen’s brilliant prose enhanced by imaginative extra spoken dialogue & sound effects, The background of historic village life & woodland birdsong. This is the rural England I have visited & loved. More productions like this, please.
